Breadhead Tauranga

I’m not a coffee girl, but gosh do I love bread! The only place in NZ where the baguette rivals the ones I bought fresh from the patisserie in Paris. The ciabatta, crispy on the outside yet perfectly light and fluffy on the inside. A must for when you are entertaining! Went to the new site at the art museum today, what a special spot! Thanks for steadfast deliciousness Breadhead team.

Despite there being one hour left before closing, the female staff member at the counter slightly short pigtail-style hair responded in a very rushed manner, making it feel like we were being hurried to order. This gave a very poor first impression.nnThe bread itself was also not as good as its reputation suggests. Compared to bakeries in Auckland that do this well, this place is not worth going out of your way for.nnOne staff member with green hair was friendly, but overall the staff attitude felt unwelcoming. Another slim blonde staff member with tied-back hair spilled a drink on my pants while serving. She did not apologise immediately, only said sorry after I expressed dissatisfaction. She also did not bring tissues, went back to making coffee, and later handed me a wet, dirty cloth to clean myself.nnFor a café with this level of reputation, I would expect much better service and customer care. The atmosphere felt very unfriendly and not reflective of the usual New Zealand hospitality.nnUnfortunately, this visit left a very negative impression, and I would not return.

Coming from Belgium, we didn’t expect to find such good bread in New-Zealand but I can tell you that Breadhead is the place to go. The bread is very good and their Morning buns are to die for nStaff is always friendly even when it’s busy!

I was served by Caitlin and she was so lovely. She helped us decide what to order and made sure we felt well looked after. Would highly recommend trying Breadhead, great service great coffee and great food!! The cruffin is definitely the right choice and their iced vanilla latte is amazing too!

amazing sausage rolls!!!!!nwhen my dad was really sick and soon passed at TGA hospital, friends brought us soooooo many treats from bread head and it was amazing! So much comfort. Now whenever I am home from overseas visiting family, I always go back and have some sausage rolls … I say some cos one is not enough. Thank you sooooooo much!!!
