Story

Just a short drive from Hanmer Springs town centre, Select Braemar Lodge & Spa is the ultimate retreat. The Lodge offers 24 indulgent suites, each with their own Californian Super King Bed, cosy fireplace and a marbled bathroom featuring a double sized indoor spa and a shower with twin massage heads, and an outlook overlooking the natural surrounds.

Choose from a 60sqm or 80sqm Suite, or enjoy the luxury of your own private hot tub on a private terrace in our Spa Suites. Either way, we promise to make your stay with Select Braemar Lodge & Spa one to look back on with fond memories. Or, like many of our regular guests, one you can repeat time and again!

Our fine dining restaurant, Altitude, offers a breakfast and a gourmet dinner menu with panoramic views over the picturesque Hanmer Basin. Head Chef, Mirek, has created an innovative a la carte menu, designed to highlight the best of our local and seasonal produce. The menu currently includes seafood from Kaikoura, North Cumberland meat, and vegetables, herbs and fruits from local producers. Our delicious menu is complemented by a customised selection of New Zealand wines, including those of the nearby Waipara Valley, famous for its Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and rich, spicy Pinot Noirs.

Spa Braemar is a place to escape, unwind and allow yourself to melt into a state of relaxation. Each treatment has been designed to promote optimum wellbeing, with a range of beauty and therapeutic treatments to complement your stay. Our experienced, qualified therapists are dedicated to making your treatment a beautiful experience, using ancient techniques to re-ignite and balance your six senses – sight, sound, smell, taste, touch and spirit.
