A very terrible experience. Racism is rampant in New Zealand. This place is mostly filled with Kiwis, and there aren’t many Asians around. Perhaps because of that, our child was treated differently.nnWhen we entered, we asked a young female staff member if we could wear our own grip socks, and she said yes. We purchased a 2-hour ticket, but after only one hour of play, a white male staff member stopped us and said we couldn’t continue unless we bought their socks.nnHowever, this requirement was not clearly stated at the time of ticket purchase. While it might have been written in the terms and conditions, who really reads every line of fine print just to go to a play centre?nnWhat upset us most was that this staff member clearly saw others not wearing their branded socks, did nothing about it. I even pointed it out to him, but those people were never asked to buy socks.nnI even took a few photos that clearly show Kiwi kids wearing their own socks without any issues, we were the ones who were required to buy theirs.
I’ve been bringing my under 5 children here for a few years, it seems to be getting more and more unclean each time we visit. The ball pit area for the little ones smelt extremely bad today, like old urine. I’m questioning if there has been any deep cleaning for a while as there is a lot of build up of hair and dust.nThe kids have fun and it’s safe enough with plenty of space for parents to sit and watch at a safe distance.
We booked our daughter’s birthday party, but didn’t read any reviews until after we had booked, so naturally I was apprehensive after seeing the reviews. However, the party was great! Our host, Nika, was great. She gave us a timeline and recommendation on what to expect from her & the day. She got the kids all sorted, made sure we had everything, set up the food, helped the kids with activities rock climbing consistently checked in to make sure we had everything. It was great having a party where there was a different range of food options, we opted for sushi, but you can also get burger fuel which as a parent who has booked many places for parties was a great alternative from the usual ‘nuggets and chip options’, you can add on cakes, extra food which depending on your kids age i would recommend. The food was really good, with a good range to pick from. The kids spent the majority of time at the rock climbing wall area which again is great having more than just trampoline options. The party went smoothly and would definitely recommend parties at bounce!nnOne thing which would be a cool option to add on, would be to the option to add on an extra hour or half hour of play, after the food is all done as many of the kids were keen to get back out there for another half an hour.
I’ve taken the children here over the years and they’ve always enjoyed their experience at BOUNCEinc Avondale. The customer service representatives have always been polite and professional. Definitely recommend this establishment for something fun to do with the children. A+++++.
Bounce Avondale is an absolute triumph for families looking to let their children unleash boundless energy in a safe and engaging environment. This well-maintained facility provides a fantastic array of trampolines and fun elements, from interconnected jump zones to dodgeball courts and even a dedicated miniBOUNCE area for younger children, ensuring there's something to stimulate every age group. It's an ideal spot for kids to get some excellent physical exercise, developing coordination and balance while simply having a blast. Crucially, the pricing is quite reasonable for the quality and variety of entertainment on offer, making it a highly recommended destination for parents seeking an active and enjoyable outing in Auckland.
