If you're looking for a place to stay in Taupo, this is it. The rooms were spacious and very clean. Nice thermal pool to use and comfortable beds. Our room had a spa bath which looked nice, but was not used by us as we loved the thermal pool outside. Views of the lake are good, but you are up high and looking over other properties. Nice balcony to enjoy the view from and the rooms are underfloor heated, very welcoming on a cold May day.
I cannot say enough great things about this place. My husband and I stayed here for one night while on our honeymoon and the couple who run the lodge couldn't have been nicer. They upgraded us to an amazing room with a private geothermal soaking pool, helped us out with the EV charging station for our car, and even included a complementary bottle of bubbly. Such an amazing experience. I highly recommend the Baycrest Thermal Lodge if you find yourself in Taupo.
We had a ground floor and second floor family apartments. Both were fantastic. Absolutely recommend this for the lovely staff, great location, cleanliness and comfort. Loved the thermal pool. We will definitely stay again. We'll worth the money.Rooms: 5/5
Great price for the location. Very large suites, clean and quiet. The view from the balcony was also great. Walking distance to the lake and town, yet far enough away from the hustle. Will definitely stay again.Rooms: 5/5
We can't speak highly enough about Baycrest. We stayed recently and our daughter was unwell in the night so had to call on the managers who live on-site - there was no hesitiation to help in the middle of the night, stopping by the next morning so see how we were etc. The managers have just recently taken over the running of the lodge and are doing and outstanding job. They showed genuine care and were so helpful which we were very appreciative of. The location is great, you aren't far from anything. We had a downstairs room which has an outside spa that you fill up yourself which was fantastic. The outside pool is also beautifully warm. We also stayed in a room with a big bed and 3 singles - it can sometimes be hard to accommodate two kids in the same room. It's certainly worth a visit. Rooms: Our room was great as had singles for the kids and a big bed for us. It was a big room with the ability to close off the area where the single beds were. Noteworthy details: The managers truly are amazing.
I booked from England, was slightly worried how easy it was. Stunned what a fantastic experience we had from entry to exit. My brother arrived earlier than me and they sorted everyone out. Really meant the world to me. These guys are amazing. Downstairs rooms have small outdoor pools to fill up. They are tiny, but literally two steps into your room. Upstairs, you have fancy spa baths in your bathroom. There's a really nice small pool for guests that's about 32 degrees
We just spent a lovely night at the Baycrest. The rooms are spotless and immaculate. The current management takes cleanliness very seriously. We spent hours in the private thermal tub that was on our patio. The location is perfect and accessible to Taupo lake an Huka Falls. Beautiful property.Rooms: 5/5
Really great Motor Inn. Upstairs roomsdon't know about downstairs have great lake views. There is a larger thermal pool. Our room had a spa bath. Very clean adequate car parking. They have an EV Charger. Need to drive into town. Proprietors are very helpful.Rooms: 5/5
Very nice one night stay in apartment 12. Amazing views of the lake. Pool was incredibly relaxing with a few beers watching the sunset. Room was large and very clean.Rooms: 5/5
We enjoyed our 2-day stay. Room was clean, large and came equipped with a kitchenette. Short walk to the lake. Plenty of parking. Walkability: If you are in shape, you can walk to town about 1-2 km or to restaurants along the lake beachfront.
