"Bach on Breakwater first opened its doors in 2006 & is situated at the end of the Coastal Walkway, right on the waterfront at the Lee Breakwater in Taranaki’s Port area. It overlooks a child-friendly little beach, and the working shipping harbour. The Bach is warm and casual, with a comfortable and welcoming ambience generated by the purple interior, the use of many upcycled materials and the mix of very old wharf timbers. With cosy banquette seating behind the fireplace, and slab timber tables lining the extensive double-glazed windows, the atmosphere is vibrant, friendly and fun, with terrific sea views. Diners can enjoy breakfast, brunch, lunch & snacks, choosing either from the delicious array of cabinet food or the extensive menu"

North Taranaki Cycling Advocates had a great visit to Bach on Breakwater as part of our Bring on Summer yellow-themed bike ride yesterday. Coffees and food came out fast even though we were a large group. The perfect stop when bike-riding on the Coastal Walkway.Food: 5/5
Awesome place to sip on a coffee or tea and eat some delicious snacks while watching the waterways of the port. The corn fritter is great. Parking: Free parking nearby
Delicious! Very busy when we called in for lunch but there was extremely good service and lunch was served in no time at all. Can definitely recommend the seafood chowder which was devine... creamy and cheesy with lots of bite sized filling. Got a couple of delicious looking slices to go for afternoon tea. Highly recommend and will be back when we return to the area. Parking: Loads of parking for bigger vehicles... just remember to pay the $1/hour. We had a motorhome and trailer so was perfect.
Excellent location right on the coastal walkway in New Plymouth near the harbour, good reasonably priced menu for both breakfast & lunch. The food was well cooked and tasty well worth a visit.Food: 5/5
The staff at The Bach on Breakwater were fantastic. They were friendly, intuitive to our needs, and went out of their way to make our dining experience really enjoyable. The food also SO good and we ate in the best setting near, well, the breakwater! All our party of five highly recommend The Bach knowing you won’t be disappointed
Excellent service , the location was amazing and the food is so tasty, the coffee, what more can I say, exceptional.
This is one of my favorite Cafe's in New Plymouth. Location is great especially when you see the waves coming over the mole. Nice atmosphere and good quality food.
Totally enjoyed my Lunch a few months ago. Service was great and so was the food. Love the location and the view of the sea and would definitely return again.
Awesome environment to catch up with friends and family. Views spectacular food scummy service with a smile. Food arrived hot and quick even though they were busy.Food: 5/5
