Story

Monica’s is almost 2. It’s been a humbling experience and we are honoured to have played a part in the building of the West End Precinct community. We are blessed to be able to draw on the influences and creativity of our neighbours and in particular that of the gallery. Our menus are created using the best of what we have sourced from local and international suppliers. Our meat and eggs are local & free range. We aim to maximise healthiness without sacrificing flavour and provide you with an inviting, modern, dining experience that you can visit for all occasions. Went for lucnch yesterday with my family, was really good atmosphere and staff service was great. Food was also tasty. But not suitable with kids as they don’t have high chair and only few spots to sit with baby’s stroller as per there staff. At the end we loved the gnocchi and the beetroot juice. Vegetarian options: Good vegetarian food.
The best high end breakfasts, great coffee, orange juice. So good we went 2 days in a row while visiting New Plymouth. Superb spot beside the art gallery. Excellent prompt service.
Everything tastes better in New Plymouth especially if you start your day with breakfast at Monica's. I had the Florentine. Outstanding. Everything was cooked to perfection. Hollandaise sauce was light and flavorful. Mushrooms were tender and meaty. And the egg yolk is a jewel yellow orange. I've never seen anything like it. The potato side was crispy and out of this world sprinkled with sea salt. Service is also outstanding. The interior is flooded with light and beautifully we'll kept plants.
What a great coffee spot! The greenery and decor was fresh, clean, bright and modern. Loved the option of chosing different styles of seating - booth style, high table and stools etc. The service was really friendly and efficient. Great food, juice and coffee. Will definitely be back
We had a nice breakfast this morning. The egg dishes on toasted ryr were tasty. We had the haloumi and mushroom dishes. The chef also made a kids french toast which was appreciated. The decor is really nice.
Outstanding. Came in on a busy day and was seated in a prime spot immediately, menus and drink orders taken straight away. Such efficient service and the food was incredible. Still thinking about it now! Lovely atmosphere too!
Great Ambiance. Nice staff. Centrally located. Can be busy during lunch time so make sure to book or come early. Food taste good.
Absolutely Devine. This place was recommended to us by local friends and it turns out we’ve been before a few years ago. Both times have been great! They were super busy due to the tattoo festival but held their smiles and were very accommodating. Will definitely come again next time we’re around. We had the scrumptious Florentine and eggs Benedict - Bloody Mary which had great spice - carrot juice was so refreshing - coffee was good and the vanilla chai was quite mild tasting but still good.
Beautiful ambiance, love the hanging plants and great menu too. Coffee was good, not the best. Breakfast was delicious, I had the eggs on rye with mushrooms and cheese. Dish was well presented and looked beautiful. Eggs were perfectly runny and overall scrumptious. Didn’t have much to choose from the cabinet menu at 10am besides cake slice so a bit strange. Iced mocha was yummy but too small for my liking.
Great atmosphere. Coffee is excellent, and the panacotta is to die for. Overall, great experience for a morning coffee and breakfast.
