Story

Opening on 24 September 2016, the ASB Waterfront Theatre is a state-of-the-art performing arts facility located in Auckland’s Wynyard Quarter.

Comprising a 660-seat, international standard theatre, bar, café, gallery space and lounge, the ASB Waterfront Theatre is a purpose-built venue and the home of Auckland Theatre Company.

The Foundation Partners of the ASB Waterfront Theatre are Auckland Council, ASB Bank and AUT University. Major funders include Creative New Zealand and Foundation North. The project funders are the Edmiston Trust, The Lion Foundation and Lotto NZ. The Founding Corporate Partners are Kensington Swan and Villa Maria, and Platinum Corporate Partners are Cooper and Company, ECC Limited, and Moller Architects. Panuku Development Auckland and Auckland Theatre Company are Project Partners.

Auckland Theatre Company is Auckland’s flagship professional theatre company. The ASB Waterfront Theatre will help the Company reach wider audiences and provide a space for other domestic and international arts organisations to tour and showcase their work.

The ASB Waterfront Theatre is adjacent to the ASB North Wharf building in the heart of Auckland’s science and innovation precinct, Wynyard Quarter.

Amazing space to enjoy whatever is happening there. Nice to be able to take your drink in acrylic glass to the theater to enjoy. Beautiful location by the water. This space should be used more and more for hosting events for everyone's pleasure.
Small theatre but wide and easy to see the stage even from the back. Nice layout of the foyer and upstairs entrances. Right next to all the shops so a great place to spend the evening from afternoon til dark.
I've lived in Auckland for 9 years and this is the first time I've been inside. Taking away the excellent show I went to see North by Northwest, the theatre is really good. Plenty of space to meet and have a drink, the seating is comfortable, the toilets are clean and gender flexible. Really impressed.
The show The Heartbreak choir was entertaining. Well worth seeing and the singing was awesome. A delightful night out at a clean and comfortable venue where the staff were helpful and polite.
Was soooo much fun!! To be honest I never hear anyone my age group saying they are going to the theatre but they should because it is lit! I watched north west something like that and it was 10/10. If you are sitting at the back do bring a jumper as it is very cold.
Absolutely gorgeous theater in Wynyard Quarter. Comfortable seats, not a bad view in the house, lobby area is stylish and cool. Lots of food and drink options available in the theater - including the option to order your intermission snacks ahead! Before or after the show enjoy the great restaurants and a walk along the North Wharf.
A lovely venue, cafe area is expensive beyond that has a lovely vibe and some great shows
Very nice theatre. Good seating areas, good service at the bar/cafe and they have a lift if you need help to get up to the 2nd or 3rd level. The seating where we were on level 3 was comfortable with enough leg room.
Nice Theatre, saw a 2 hour play there. Seats a bit uncomfortable, bum started to hurt after a while. Feel like the seats on the floor up the front should be more on a decline. Hard to see past the people infront of you. Still enjoyed the show.
Lovely venue however we parked just down the road at Wilson's and $25 for just over 2 hours is excessive. Enjoyed our evening
