Arden St House has an interesting, arty and quirky decor. Bedrooms are themed with African or art deco character, and are warm, large and sunny, with views. All bedrooms have excellent beds and bedding, TV, heater, electric blankets and hairdryers. lovely garden. Modern bathrooms and some rooms ensuite.

Had a lovely stay at Arden Street House. The owners of this B&B are lovely and welcoming; it's a large, bright and spacious house with lovely sized and comfortable rooms. Breakfast was continental, with a plenty of choice and great coffee! There was even a fresh fruit salad every morning. I will definitely be staying here again when I'm next through Dunedin, thanks a lot!
Over the years I have been lucky to have travelled through many countries and stay in a variety of places. Arden St House, Dunedin remains a favourite for all the important reasons. David and Joyce, the hosts and their team of international students are particularly kind and welcoming and interested in the smallest details which make the stay a special experience. On top of a hill the views are fantastic, the house happens also to be very close to all the important things. The breakfasts are delicious and highly nutritious. But the evening meal is always something to remember served in a casual and laughter filled atmosphere. The variety of the food served is outstanding. Would I recommend the place ? ... 100% ! Room was spacious enough, bathroom is comparatively small, but acceptable. Beds are very soft. The house itself is nicely decorated. Hosts are friendly. The cleanness of the plates and cutlery needs more attention.
Super friendly, familiar and awesome place. The rooms are nicely equipped and have a great view to the city. Breakfast is very rich and tasty. The botanical garden is pretty close in walking distance. We had a great time there and very much recommended.
I usually don't have horrible experiences but it was I need to warn travellers. This is not a quaint BnB you will not get a cooked breakfast and the host will not comuincate with you. The pictures are not like the website and the ensuite with "character" is a very bad awkwardly furnished renovated garage that doesn't even get wifi throughput the room. I was so mortified when I walked into the room that I wondered if I was at the right place. Thankfully we were moved to a nicer room in the main house. The bed and pillows were comfortable. But renovations were happening no warning and awkward to have tradies as you are in pajamas coming to and from shower. The hosts do not understand hospitality. If you are looking for amazing place then skip this place.
We stayed for 3 nights early January 2019, welcomed and made at home by gracious hosts Dave and Joyce. A home away from home. Our first visit and introduction to Dunedin made memorable. Thank you.
Very much appreciated staying at this place, owners were very polite, considerate and were helpful, breakfast was great and the personal touch they put to things is second to none, they reminded me of what true kiwi hospitality means. Well done and Thank you.
What a real pleasure to pay to stay with these amazing hosts. Made to feel welcome from the first meeting on arrival through leaving 3 nights later.
Brilliant little B&B, simple fruit/toast/cereal brekkie, lovely couple that run it are very unobtrusive but great for questions/ideas
Lovely people, clean and tidy, very comfortable, very homely.
