Had a great time here. Friendly staff, the food for me a Salmon Mornay main & a Apple Crumble dessert though on the small side of portions was delicious "I'm a big eater". The premises was clean and tidy. The fire was appreciated on the chilly evening. A nice place to celebrate some of our family members birthdays.
This is my favorite restaurant in Auckland. I've never been disappointed with the food here. The ribs are absolutely delicious and the atmosphere is really great. They also host trivia nightsRecommended dishesChicken Wings
This is my first visit since its changed ownership. The menu is much better with a few healthier options and a big screen TV with the sport on. Friendly service and didn't feel rushed.Food: 4/5
It’s a relaxing environment to hang out, even saw parents bringing their primary school aged kids here while they’re having drinks. Ordered calamari, was good but just a few pieces. Apple crumble cake with ice cream, hmm didn’t taste that good, a little soggy. Since this place is called both a bar and a eatery, I had expectation for their food at this place.
That portion of wine I received in my glass was simply ridiculous. Honestly, that bottle doesn't cost more than $20 and you pour like 1/20 of the bottle, which is $1 worth and charge $10 for that. Seriously, you can do better than this..
This is an honorable establishment in the heart of Mt Albert Village. They donated their time and food to the January flood disaster victims and clean up support crew here in Auckland, you have good hearts, thank you team!
What an awesome wee place! Friendly staff right from the start and a lit fire was a warm welcome too. Drinks are at a reasonable price, all served with a smile. Recommendations were offered by the very friendly team member and water delivered but only after our second wine. Water from the start is always a nice touch as many people drive and are conscious in that regard. Food we had was nice, with the beef stew looking like a nice hearty meal for a cold winters evening. I think I would have preferred my meal a little hotter temperature but that’s a personal preference. Blankets are offered for all patrons to keep warm which is another nice touch. Music was pleasant and loud enough to be heard but not over powering. Personally I thought, $12 for the popcorn chicken 5 pieces was a tad overpriced. As a local here is nice to discover a watering hole within walking distance that won’t cost and arm and a leg. All in all - A nice experience, I would recommend and also come back.
Boss made and served our drinks! Super nice guy. Lots of heart in his presence. Recommend if you're in the neighborhood.Food: 5/5
Used to enjoy meeting friends and neighbours here but since the sale from the original owner the two owners since have unfortunately not maintained the same standard of food or environment The beer selection especially has got a lot worse
The spare pork ribs were delicious on-top of fries and the bbq sauce mmm and it was a decent amount I had to share.
