I've been there twice in the past month. One for dinner and the other for Yum Cha not much varieties there. Clearly it is not a busy place. But what we ordered we're happy with, I think if you order any of the recommended dishes on the menu you'll be happy with the meal. I love the fact that their kitchen is open. since it wasn't crowded when we went we also love the privacy, and even with my 2 children there we didn't feel like we're bothering anyone when they misbehave. Service was fine but this maybe because they were not busy on both occasions. Overall I'm happy and will definitely go back.
Food is delicious especially the signature dishes. My wife and I and with friends have been there for 4 times of which 2 visits are with vouchers and we've found that dishes sizes are the same as of without vouchers. Services are excellent. The Manager Mr. Wong and his staff serve in good and professional manner and always selects delicious dishes for us. Our friends thank us for introducing them such a good restaurant in Randwick..
I rarely post reviews but felt I need to warn others that the management of this restaurant is the most unethical and has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Throughout the meal my family of 4 were spoken to rudely and treated like we were scum. At the end we asked for the bill then decided to get some dumplings to make the total $120 our budget. However when we received the second bill they had also added on tea which was stated to be free in the initial bill and chilli charges.. an extra $15.50! See attached photo. So unethical and greedy to charge for things without telling customers upfront or listing it on the menu. $3.50 for chilli WITHOUT TELLING CUSTOMERS FIRST and which is complimentary in all other restaurants is ridiculous. That coupled with the rude service throughout the night.. no wonder there were only 2 other tables dining on Friday night. I work in the Randwick area and will tell my colleagues to avoid this restaurant going forward. Please check your bill if you do dine here as they are all out to scam you! What a shame
Its a real bad experience. I called them and confirmed that I and my wife will come and have lunch with our voucher. And we double checked with them when we arrived and even did this again before we made our order as we know some food are not included. But when we check out, the manager told me that he cant accept this voucher just as I didnt show him when we arrived. And their manager was so rude that told me use that voucher next time. This is the worst restuarant I have ever been and as a chinese I can tell you their dishes are real bad, especially their roasted duck, the worst one I have ever tasted and will never go to this restaurant again.If you have voucher in this restaurant, be careful.
As other people have said, avoid Zhu Canton if you are looking for a nice meal. We were celebrating a special occassion however the service was absolutely disgusting. The waiters and managers were rude, curt and snobby. We practically had to beg them for service and they would not respond at all. No wonder they have no customers
Avoid the Peking duck at all cost. Absolutely waste of money. Rest of dishes are avg. Rice is $4 per head. Rip off.. place was 15% occupied for lunch on sunday which suggest what ppl think. No further explaination needed.
Trying to call the restaurant to reserve a table on Saturday afternoon and evening. The phone rings but no one pick up. Call the club directly but cannot transfer. So decide to go to another restaurant. It is a pity that the restaurant cannot have an alternate contact. Bad experience
The worst service i have ever experienced in Sydney. The manager was not helpful and extremely rude. The foods were served cold. Never returning to this place again. And i would never recommend this place to anyone. Very Disgusted
Excellent yum cha place. Its dim sum are just delicious and are pieces of fine arts. Will definitely come back to enjoy the pleasure dim sum experience.
It's a shame that the food is over priced, plus false advertising as the manager unreasonably denied me to use my Groupon voucher. It's a dodgy place.
