Couldn’t recommend this Family Day Care service enough. As a family day care educator and a small family business owner, I have been with this amazing family day care service for a few years, I can confidently say that working through The Y Family Day Care has been one of the best decisions I ever made. Their staff especially Kristymanager, MichelleCo-ordinator, AliciaEducational trainer and KateOffice Sorry if I forgot to mention anyone are extremely professional and easy to work with. The Y family day care service encourage, build confidence and genuinely about their educators and their children. They always expecting the highest standards of their educators so they can continually strive to achieve the best care at the same time they don’t push their educators too hard, always lots of support and guidance were given when I needed. Thank you Michelle, Kristy, Alicia and Kate for being so supportive and always being a call away. I highly recommend any outstanding educator to join their service, and highly recommend any parent who are unsure of family day care services, to give The Y Family Day Care service a call, you won’t regret.
After having moved from another daycare service, the whole process of moving to a new scheme was daunting at first after 20yrs. However, the management at The Y Family Day Care made the process all that much better. I was well supported by the management team who checked in every few days to ensure everything was okay. The unannounced coordinator visits, and regular environment audits- and they provide you with what needs to be updated, as well as ensure all Professional Development is done, are some of the many things they do at The Y. Sleep charts, documenting where parents, as well as the management, can see, to ensure everything is done per the National Quality Standards and the Early Years Learning framework. Coordinators always visit when the children are in-care and will see what is happening. The Y management team are very friendly, works within their guidelines and ensures to deliver relevant communications ASAP. If a child is distressed whilst in care, they are kind to come and visit and discuss strategies with all parties to come up with strategies and make sure any child can have a great time at daycare. I highly recommend The Y Family Day Care!
As a qualified Early Childhood Educator, I have worked with YMCA Family Day Care for almost a year now, out of my 6 years of operation. My professional journey has been supported by an enthusiastic, well informed, caring and committed team of professionals, backed by the YMCA organisation. The administrative/management team are amazingly organised, with their fingers on the pulse of all changes to legislation/regulations/educational frameworks. The coordinators not only support my professional needs, but also provide some much needed adult conversation and grounding. Unannounced coordinator visits help me to maintain compliance, while also providing fresh eyes within my environment supporting ongoing reflective practices. The educational leader has provided varied perspectives, insights and clarity with regard to my programming and documentary requirements. The provision of free professional development opportunities through out the year keeps me up to date with current industry related research and understandings. I have experienced considerable professional and personal growth during my time with YMCA Family Day Care, and I cannot wait to see what 2023 holds.
Please please please don't send your kid to YMCA family daycare!!!!! First y family daycare we saw had a pool with old fencing. The lady said the kids " knew not to go near it". We reported it, the YMCA denies knowing about the pool. Which means they don't ever look after services before advertising them as open for business. The next one we looked at, we literally had authorities close it down, after seeing the filthy mouldy broken carport the service was keeping the kids in, and knee high grass with broken toys and broken rusty fences. After that management was determined to " make it up to us" and prove they had some actual legal family daycare services that my kid would not die in.....They talked us into Natalies daycare calamvale. Everything was fine for the first week. Then suddenly my happy go lucky kid started flipping out at the thought of going back to the family daycare at Natalie's. When we arrived on the third day of this sudden change in behaviour , my kid held onto car doors, hyperventilating and sobbing like he never had before. We had an argument with Natalie at that time because she refused to let us in to comfort him, and yelled at us to leave. We finally got him out of her house, and as we left a car with an unknown man pulled up to her house and entered the house. I noticed that car had been idling further down the road when we pulled up. This man was waiting for us to leave. Why? Ummm. Why? And why hide it and try to get us to leave with such haste? What's going on at Natalie's family day care? We called and emailed our complaint, with no reply. It's 6 months later and my kid is still terrified of going to a daycare. I'm so angry with YMCA. Strange men, pools and locking kids in rusty carports. Kids are going to die here. I mean it. If you love your kid don't send em to the YMCA!
