Michael Hutchinson Funerals, incorporating Skinners and Murphy Funerals, are uncomplicated and economical funeral directors. We provide our funeral services throughout South East Queensland including: Brisbane, Logan, Redcliffe, Ipswich, Redlands, Gold Coast, Caboolture, Bribie, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, and Warwick.

We are transparent with our prices to help you determine the general cost of a funeral before you contact us.

There are many variables to consider when planning a funeral and we are here to help you. We understand that this is a difficult time and that the cost of a funeral can sometimes be a hardship - so we provide you with flexible options which range from the most very basic cremation, through to a full service funeral with all services provided.

NOT recommended. Whilst the overall service was ok, there were things that went wrong that should never have happened. There was no compassion shown by James when he first entered my cousin's home - she had just lost her elderly mother. No "sorry for your loss" or anything to that effect. There was a part omitted from the service, and my wife had to remind him that there were flowers for the attendees to place on the coffin during the music. The most inexcusable error was the use of the wrong name during the committal at the graveside! Can you imagine the distress this caused. My wife sent emails following the service seeking an apology, and it was only after much correspondence that someone actually rang my cousin to apologise. I would definitely NOT recommend this company. It's the old saying "you get what you pay for". Unfortunately my cousin was on a very tight budget and this company provided a service within her means.

I would highly recommend this service to all my friends and family. I lost my Mum and have never had to organise a funeral before. Ian and Colleen made myself and my family feel very comfortable discussing Mums service. Ian came to my house to discuss all the arrangements with my brothers and sisters. Nothing was too much trouble for either of them. They were happy to travel to NSW for Mum's service. The compassion they showed myself and my family was overwhelming. The service ran smoothly and we didn't have to worry about a thing. I would definitely use this service again if the need arises. The professionalism of this firm is of the highest quality and wouldn't hestitate to recommend them to anyone. Definitely 5 star service.

We would never recommend this company to anyone for any type of funeral. They are the most unprofessional company in Queensland. There is not one measure of decorum amongst any of the staff. They don’t recognise or understand the law, our name and phone number, which is private, was given out to a third party which should never have happened. Never trust this company.

Our recent loss was made so much easier with our dealings with Michael Hutchinson Funeral Services. Every person we had dealings within the company were professional and compassionate - from the time Mum was taken into care through to the completion of the service. Thank you for making a hard time a bit easier.

I would like to thank Ian and Paul for the way they conducted the funeral and the whole process of my cousin today at Mt Thompson memorial gardens. They held the highest respect and dignity thank you for making a hard time a lot easier highly recommend their services
