Amazing Authentic Greek Food, just as you’d expect from a home cooked meal! The service was perfect with drinks and food coming out soon after ordering and always was delivered with a smile. Very friendly staff that made not just us but everyone in the restaurant feel welcome - special mention to Costa and Stathi who made our night! Greek music and atmosphere made us feel like we were in Greece. 10/10. Highly recommend if in Cairns.
Gorgeous atmosphere, love the decorations and the Greek music - the balcony is a must if you can get a table there. The food is wonderful, surely they actually have a Greek Yaya grandmother in the back making all this comforting, warm, delicious food. The staff is welcoming, friendly and super efficient. Highly recommend a lovely night out here with friends or family.
Epic! Absolutely spectacular service by kosta met with the most delicious authentic feast! Then to top it off the cocktails were amazing. It is an absolute must of you're in Cairns! Highly recommend doing the feed me option you will leave so full you won't want to move.
Absolutely loved this place! First although they didn’t accept our google booked reservation, they still happily managed to find a table for our group of 5. Costa the manager I think? was especially lovely, he welcomed us, made us feel at home and and part of the family, even when we got a little rowdy, truely a Greek feel to this place! The food came out super quick even though they were quite busy and on man was it YUMMY! Seriously, we got the $50 feed me feast, totally worth it! Everything that came out was just delicious authentic Greek. Costa even spoiled us a bit extra for dessert with a special traditional dish, amazing! Cannot recommend Yaya’s enough!
If you visit anywhere in Cairns it better be here! 5+ stars. Beautiful outdoor seating, huge portions we got the banquet set which was more than enough and a lil taste of everything!, and staff that make you feel right at home. Costa, the manager, was so so lovely. Took a moment to assist my dad who has mobility issues to an easier way to get down the stairs, made a bigger table ready for us to feel even more comfortable, and recommended the most stunning, authentic dishes. Whenever I make a trip back up to Cairns I’ll definitely be coming back. My pictures don’t do justice! Thank you Yaya’s for a memorable night out.
We had a great night being served by Costas and Tassos. The staff are very friendly and wanting to please and always with a great smile on their faces! The food was great and well prepared and plate sharing is fine. We had a great table overlooking the water that really made the night more special!
I went here on Saturday night and had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, the staff were so friendly and nice and the place was overall very lively. One of the best restaurants I have been too. Big thanks to Kosta for being genuine and a great host! It is an absolute must if you are ever in Cairns! I highly recommend it :
First night in Cairns and we headed straight to Yaya’s for dinner based on a recommendation. And boy did it not disappoint! Besides a minor hiccup with our booking thanks but no thanks to The Fork - the food was delicious and the service was exemplary. 4 people bill AUD $223 included 2 glasses red wine Ordered trio of dips with extra pita, lamb cutlets and open souvlaki - lamb and chicken followed by baklava for dessert. The taramasalata was smooth and all dips were bursting with flavour. The lamb was succulent with a hint of red served with Greek salad and Greek style potatoes a must. Our 16 year old son who is still a fussy eater - loved his open lamb souvlaki served with chips. And the piece the resistance - home made baklava!!!! We took the remainder home and even in the fridge overnight - the baklava remained soft and to die for. Our waiter, Tasos - was such a lovely young man - energetic and helpful - and extremely accommodating. Going back before we head back home.
It's our first time we've actually stayed in Cairns instead of a day trip back in 2009. We had to eat at Yaya's Hellenic Kitchen to taste some Greek food from the locals. After coming here last Sunday to test, we had the $50 banquet which confirmed that we had to come again to try some of the other food as we did last night. Our Host Kosta owner greeted us as if we were family which was great as we had come back. Tasso his son had catered for us all night with the rest of the great team. All of our dishes was full of flavour with the seafood tigani, lamb from the oven and the mousaka which we all shared. The Saganaki was as good as ever, my wife & Michelle lived the Greek salad. All the food was topped off with the drinks, myself had a small bottle of Ouzo of Plomari which is a town on the island if Lesvos in Greece, my wife had the Santorini fling & Michelle had the Agapi special cocktails. Once we had finished our food and just relaxing to digest a little, one of the waitresses brought out some plates as Kosta had a gift for us. He gave us a few different Greek sweets to have. We were so full but we finished them all off. We later found out that it was Kostas birthday, we were so lucky to be there on the night. Happy birthday again Kosta. Thank you for the beautiful food and service. You have a great team working for you. Well done. Will see you again the next time we're up from cold & freezing Melbourne.
I wish I could give 6 stars! 2 entrees, mix grill plate with greek salad to share and 2 glasses of wine each = $150. Waitress was accommodating and very helpful with selections, owner was so friendly and location was awesome! Absolutely give this place a look when in Cairns! I'll definitely be going back and I cannot recommend this place enough
