When booking accommodation I did not realise that the The White Lion Hotel was next door. What a great little Hotel, the staff were very friendly and the beer was prices were reasonable. Had the Sirloin Wednesday special, the steak was tender and salad was well made. Other meals that came out also looked great. Will definitely come back if we are back up this way.
Beautiful food. I ordered the lamb shank with mash and veg and added an extra shank for take away. Meal was huge and feed me plus my 2 young ones and we had left overs. Flavours were unreal and the meat fell right off the bone... 10/10
The White Lion Hotel in Maryborough stands out as a true local favourite, thanks to its dedicated and hard-working team. From the excellent leadership of Chris and Taylor, who manage the venue with care and professionalism, to the welcoming and attentive bar staff who create a great atmosphere for all. The bottle shop crew are always efficient and friendly, making every visit a breeze. And let’s not forget the talented chef and kitchen staff who consistently deliver mouth-watering meals. With a team like this, it’s easy to see why the White Lion is such a beloved spot in town.
We did not have a very pleasing experience here. Our meal took 50 minutes from ordering to delivery to the table. 3 of us had Schnitzel and it was unanimous, the worst schnitzel we have ever had. It tasted like dish water, not disimilar to the mass produced stuff from the supermarket Delicatessen. The side salad was nice though. I also had a creamy prawn and calamari topper. While the prawns were quite good the sauce was watery and tasteless. My sister enjoyed her chicken Carbonara. In fairness, it was a busy night. The young lady taking orders could have used a helping hand. She was taking orders and on the phone. It would have been stressful for her, though she remained calm.
Best pub meal we have a had in a long time. The old pictures on the wall are a nice touch, and the advice on jugs of soft drink as opposed to single glasses was an added touch. Very fairly priced and more options than most other establishments. Will definitely return
