I was just passing through and found this place. It was close to closing time but they allowed me to sit in until 9:15pm. I ordered the goat curry which comes with rice, aloo paratha, and a mango lassie. The goat curry with bone in was the highlight! Plentiful, tender and flavoursome. I highly recommend this! The medium hot was NZ medium hot, but that was fixed with a free side of green chili sauce I’ve previously lived in India for 3 years. The aloo paratha was also decent, with the mango lassie average the standard pulp is always too sweet, as opposed to fresh mango and came with a touch of cardamom. The young Nepalese man provided top notch banter too. Atmosphere was lacking but then I arrived late and the place was empty. I felt the $38 was well spent. Thank you Whitby Taj
Had our go to Chicken Biryani - kiwi hot, takeaway, very very very bland, and very minimal chicken, very disappointing nLet me know when you make this into a chicken biryani, making the chicken a seen ingredient, not one you are trying to find amongst the rice..nUsually the flavour is on target hence, I look past the lack of chicken.nI try and eat local to support, but unfortunately no flavour and minimal chicken will not rush back.
I visited the Whiby Taj for the first time and found everything so amazing here . I booked a party dinner for 12 people at Whitby Taj . As I went inside first I noticed the cleanliness because it is very important that the place where you are eating should be hygienic .But Im so impressed with atmosphere of whitby Taj restaurant aroma fragrance and music refreshed my mood .nnTheir Staff welcomed us so nicely, first served water and sent the menu along with it. Miss Gurpreet took everyone's order with a lot of patience and kindness as she looked very experienced and professional. They started by serving drinks .nnLater on Mr Tanveer started serving food in a very Professional manner curry’s , Naan Breads platters , No doubt guys, the food was as delicious to eat , as it lookednnDinning at Whitby Taj was a delightful experience from start to finish . we enjoyed everything about our visit to this restaurant . ,Customer service of Whitby Taj Staff exceeded all expectations. Full value for money. Highly recommended Guysnnkeep it up whitby Taj team
Food is quite nice, took a long time to arrive when ordered delivery. Some items arrived a bit cold, though overall not too bad.
I went here a few years ago to eat and the manager/owner was so rude when I walked in that I turned around and walked out. Talking to my Dad today and found out exactly the same thing happened to him! Only then did I decide to review this place.nI'm giving you 1 star BUT I'm going to go back soon and actually try the food if you're not rude again and then adjust my review.
