Never answer the phone. Website said 4:30 close, sign on door said 5pm close, when in actual fact you closed at 4. Enlighten me, what exactly does a bricks and mortar bank do now? And how does a brand new customer from overseas not myself open a bank account?
Checked the website today, nambour show holiday and the bank stated they were open. I arrived at 10.30am to find they were closed. Not impressed as I only went out to go to the bank. Please change your hours when needed.
Absolutely appalling service. I have attempted to phone this branch for 3 days now to make an appointment to discuss our home loan. On all 3 days, I have received a message advising me they were "too busy" to take the call and to leave a message. I guess we will be re-financing with another bank.
Westpac in general is a terrible bank for anyone who is suffering disability, they have no compassion for disabled pensioner and will be unwilling to help them with housing loans regardless of how much savings you have. They will expect that you have full time work regardless of your disability, good luck... I recently had to endure the insufferable rantings of a rude and discriminatory employee at my local branch, I requested help with some charges for an overdrawn account that I had previously been told had my disability pension card attached to it "The card voids the fees" the card was not set to the account as previously told to me, instead it was applied to my wife's account. The banker's rudeness and bad attitude was apparent from the beginning of our interaction. She made some personal comparisons about how she has a responsibility for her fees when they occur, basically giving the implications that I was not on the cognitive level to understand simple fees. I said yes I understand, but my point was that the fee wouldn't have occurred had the pension card been put onto the correct account as I was previously told.She interrupted me multiple times and would not listen to anything I had to say, she simply wanted to ignore what was being said and have me give up and leave. I was very polite and calm, I asked her if she wouldn't mind allowing me to explain uninterrupted. She said "sure" then looked away from me instantly and focused on her computer, I explained everything in full and she completely ignored me, again she referred to herself and others needing to pay the fees... This is when I started to feel uncomfortable and asked her "sorry do you think we are the same?" And she replied with "well I provide for my family"... It was at that moment I had enough of this woman, how dare she imply that because im on disability pension I don't provide for my family or am inferior to her. I couldn't care less about the fees it's a service the bank provides people who are disabled and the principal of the matter, I've never been so disrespect from a service in my life. I spoke with the branch manager who was helpful and resolved the issue in minutes, the way it should have been handled in the fistplace. Also sidenote; Westpac debt cards almost never work the first time so have fun beeping 3-4x.
Rob at the Maroochydore branch has restored my faith in Westpac! Having been a customer all my life, I was getting more and more feed-up with Westpac & the customer service roundabouts I seem to always experience whether online and at branches. So what a relief to be greeted and looked after by Rob today. He was fast, friendly and efficient knew his stuff - no sending me elsewhere or needing to double check anything. Hope they look after him and he sticks around!
My elderly father attended this branch twice. Both occasions requesting a specific 12 character reference be placed on a recurring payment. Both occasions he was treated like a bother by staff, but told it was successful and provided a receipt. This however, was incorrect. My father was told by the recipient he did not attach an appropriate reference - even though he had a receipt of confirmation from the branch. When I contacted the Maroochydore branch the lady was rude, and spoke over me continually. After I asked why this reference was not appearing on his transactions -- she advised only then, that in branch recurring payments set up had a maximum of 8 characters for a reference?! At no point did any staff member advise my father of this. You have caused a frail elderly man to persistently waste his time when independent transport is at best difficult. Disgusting. We will be changing banks as a consequence. Don't bother with this bank! They lack an understanding of the term 'service'.
By far the WORST customer service I have received from any bank. The teller made it seem like it was such a hassle to sort out a simple cash deposit. He was extremely rude and hostile to both myself and my girlfriend. He made sure that we both would never bank with westpac in the future. Absolutely appalling.
I went to deposit some money reasonable amount me the ATM said there is we an error with the account I selected and gave me back my money $150 SHORT! The ATM never game me my money back and it never went into my account. ATM is a money stealer and there was no staff to help me.
Want to buy a motorbike this weekend. Have been calling ahead all day to withdraw cash for purchase. Unable to get through with no call-backs... Not impressed. EDIT: I like them now. They were a pain in the butt to get a hold of but they're super friendly & great to deal with in person. Got my money - Now i'm getting my bike!
Had renae help me set up business bank accounts today. Made it a really easy process and was very knowledgeable.
