I’ve been wanting to write this review for a while. I took my son here in maybe 2021 and he was placed on antibiotics and possibly a cream. I can’t remember the details. Neither worked and so after a period of time I called to take my son back in because his acne was getting worse. I was told the clinic would only be focusing on patients with cancerous issues. That’s all well and good, but why do this to existing patients? Do you realise that because of this we had to wait 6 months or longer to get someplace else just to see him? Why not just keep your existing patients and not take new patients that don’t display cancerous symptoms? Because of having to start over…his acne got so bad that he now has scarring. I just don’t get why you tossed existing patients to the side making them have to start again with someone new? My son only saw the dermatologist one time, but we had hoped we could get on top of his acne. Your clinic really did not help my son. Sad to say.
Visited Dr David Chiang today for a skin check. He was absolutely wonderful. Made me feel so comfortable. I am covered in freckles and moles and he was very patient and completed a thorough check. Afterwards he took the time to speak to me and gave lots of information about my skin. I highly recommend Dr Chiang.
Highly recommend Dr Stephen Lai! He is incredibly professional, attentive and caring. He’s very knowledgeable and I must say his skills are one of the best among all the doctors I’ve seen over so many years. He is very patient with me and explained things thoroughly. The nurse and reception girl are very friendly and lovely too. Could not be happier with the quality of service and care provided. Would recommend to everyone!

Professional, prompt and polite. Dr Tan was amazing and in my first appointment carried out a full mole map on my body and was able to explain about each mole I had concerns with. He was very thorough and performed a biopsy on one of my moles which was quick and very neatly done in the appointment. Everything was great and Dr Tan was very clear to explain the process and provide information to me on leaving. It was great to find a professional whom I very much trust now and highly recommend Dr E Tan!
Wanted to see Dr Tan but unfortunately he's moved overseas so I saw Dr Stephen Lai. I felt really really rushed when seeing him, didn't feel like he listened to me properly and left uncertain, leaving me to seek another second opinion. Reception staff however were nice!
Very happy with the results!! Before initial consultation my son was very quiet and did not like to go out because of his acne. After seeing Dr Tan his face has cleared and my son is very happy and is loving life and has no problem going out and socialising again!! Thanks Dr Tan we are very happy
We went to Dr Tan because of good reviews on google. I would not question the expertise of Dr Tan, he is a very competent professional and treatment options look promising but our consultation was rushed. If we have been promised an appointment and we are paying $ 270 for it, we expect the professional to listen to us patiently for at least 20 minutes. It was clear Dr Tan was in middle of another appointment and he wanted to get rid of us as soon as possible. We would have easily waited in reception if he was busy elsewhere. Instead of an explanation for treatment options, we were given an A4 sheet and told to go through all the medications which is very unsatisfactory and disappointing.
My experience with Dr Eugene Tan came about because of a disappointing service from my local surgeon. This caused me to research better ways of treatment for my Basal Cell Carcinoma. I discovered that the best known practice for treatment is the MOHS surgery. Google then was employed to research professionals that carried out this form of surgery. On investigating approximately 4 web sites, I was convinced that the Western Skin Institute was the place to contact as I felt from the web site the passion of Dr Eugene Tan was skin cancer treatment & especially ones on the face, rather than cosmetic surgery, though I am sure he is no less particular to perform this well, & indeed my surgery included some cosmetic procedure. I had my first consultation with Dr Tan & was convinced from this moment that my investigations had been worthwhile. The thoroughness & personal manner with which he went about his profession, impressed me. I was very confident that I was in very good hands going into the operation. I have now had the operation & all is going well & in a manner that I had been informed of through the information that the Western Skin Institute had supplied. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Dr Tan & staff for any such procedures as I have had. Sincerely Michael Cook.
I had a scary discovery of having a skin cancer on my face. My experience from the very first appointment at the Western Skin Institute was exceptional, the documentation provided to enable me to understand my condition and the surgery that would be required was fabulous. On the day of surgery, although a little nervous, the entire team made me feel I was cared for and ensured I understood every step of the way. Dr Tan was amazing and his entire support team are exceptional.
