This is a Melbourne institution!!! Westlake has been serving up classic Chinese dishes for decades. The owner-chef still works everyday and is always there to make sure the dishes go out good. Every dish we had could not be faulted. Delicious and fresh. Their Signature Chicken was very very good!Food: 5/5
Had yum cha here today. Overall, the experience was really good. Service staff were great, and the food was tasty. I especially liked their egg tarts, and BBQ pork pastries. I was hungry and intent on eating, so I forgot to take photos until halfway through. The carts might not have what you want but you can order them.
We have a family lunch before going back to Singapore. The food are served warm and fresh and the portions are generous. We are satisfied with the food tastes, as it is above average, and the staff services.
Great yum cha place, short wait outside they put your name on a list, delicious food - trolleys rotated a lot of freshly cooked food. Our meal totalled $220 for 3 people
Went for Sunday yum Cha. Food was alright, and while the waiters were polite it took ages to get anything. Had to ask 3 times for vinegar with more than 10 minute gaps in between and same for my friends when they requested chilli oil.
Came here for a late night supper a few weeks ago. The stir fried beef noodles was a bit oily for my liking. However the other dishes like the XO Pipis, stir fried Kangkong and congee were on point. Pricing wise, more expensive than some others, but the produce is better quality and larger servings. Not too bad, and is worth another midnight visit!
Would of loves to order more food, but after asking 3 times for chilli sauce and being waved away like I was a homeless man begging for a meal. We decided not to order any more. Between 7 we only order 5 or 6 dishes but server’s attitude turned me off. I’m sure the food would of be okay but this kind of service left a sour taste in my mouth. Oh and don’t try asking for serviettes. They’ll give you looks
The minced beef pastry puff and beef bao which is usually pork filling is so delicious and new compared to what I grew up with! The egg tarts are rich and likely my new favourite in town as well. The cheong fun was smooth and the sauce is flavourful and sweet. The fried prawn dumplings are generously filled and crispy! The xiao long bao and chicken taro pastry was just so-so. The staff are really nice, friendly and attentive as well, we had a great time!
Food was ok but the staff were some of the rudest I've ever encountered. It's the only place open after 10pm so you don't have much choice. A good meal ruined by bad service and awful staff.
This place food is delicious but I think the staff is not enough to provide us a good service like help us fill tea or taking a sauce. But got one guy call ah yeng he provide us very good service and also so funny.
