The dumplings themselves were delicious, we tried the Truffle Mushroom, cheeseburger dumplings, and vege moneybag selection. All were really yummy and moreish, you could definitely eat a lot here. While the prices are on the expensive side, the dumplings are delicious and the service is top notch and the restaurant itself is full of interesting decor to look at, so I'd say it's definitely worth it.
@drumplings is back on Swanston st, and their tasty, juicy and inexpensive dumplings, baos and baked baos are perfect to cure your hanger pangs or for your weekday lunch needs. Freshly made, quality ingredients and great flavours are key ingredients that makes these dumplings and baos stand out. We had the red duck curry, ginger prawn dumplings both were so fantastic, delicious and very satisfying to eat. Highly recommend We also had the sweet and spicy beef baked bao and it was so irresistible and delish. Must try. Crispy chicken and bbq pork baos were so incredibly yummy, filling and very flavourful. Highly recommend. The prices are super reasonable and the service is prompt, even the staff are all very welcoming, kind and friendly. This small dumplings joint on Swanston @drumplings is a must visit for one and all. Do check it out this week!
Alright little restaurant with a lot of potential. The food wasn’t actually too bad and the customer service was outstanding. It looked like that staff was still in training but there still is a lot of work to do. Pork and chive dumplings Crispy chicken Bao The actual bun was super nice but the filling not so much.
Yummy food, the cheeseburger dumplings taste exactly like a Macca's cheeseburger, and the char siu pork baked bao are yummy, if a little sweet. Only con is they are a bit pricey, $12 for 5 dumplings is a lot.
Myself and two friends got several different dumplings each so we could try a bunch of flavours. Each dumpling was cold, the fillings of the duck curry and butter chicken were grainy and honestly tasted awful. For quite expensive dumplings, you would expect a lot better. We ended up having to go somewhere else for a second dinner because the food was inedible. It’s a shame because I went when it was a restaurant at Melbourne central and it was AMAZING, have no idea what’s happened to the quality and flavour.
Man this place used to be so good when it was on Burke St - pricey but worth it for a once in a while treat. It's now like maccas version of the original but still the same price. Dumplings aren't made fresh and taste average. Some taste awful. Staff had no idea what they were doing and were incredibly unprofessional. If you went to the original, don't bother with this one, you'll hate it.
Went there with a couple mates and ordered dumplings and bao buns. The dumplings were dry and tasted like dirt and the bao buns were fairly bland with not much in them. All of it ended up either in the bin or to the seagulls. Couldn’t pay me to eat this again
Overpriced, and the max and cheese were like week old pva glue. Drumplings was better food when they were a restaurant. The bao was so dry and had little filling that I felt like I'd actually been robbed.
the old restaurants was pricy but had great food and atmosphere. This new place is pricy, disorganized, has half the menu, and the food doesn't taste as fresh. It's more of a worklunch takeaway joint now and it's not worth the price.
This place is new here and not too bad. Cheeseburger dumplings are great but quite pricey. Bao aren't your traditional Bao but nice twist and well sized. Only issue with Bao is they definitely need more filling.
