My god, what a nightmare dealing with these guys just to set up insurance. Went in store, got everything sorted- it took an HOUR though. Came home, saw some info was wrong. Rang the store multiple times during business hours, never any answer - no one called me back when I left a message either. Eventually, rang the generic RACV number, spoke to a lovely lady who fixed it for me - and said the email would come within half an hour. It didn't, rang again the next day to get that email, they sent it straight away. Got home from work, discovered the price had gone up! Rang again, after hours, helpful gentleman said he'd leave a note for the appropriate department to fix it and they will get back to me either in either two to three business days ... so it's still not even resolved.
I have nine insurance policies with RACV spending over $5,000 a year in premiums and my recommendation is 'don't ever go here to this store'. Maori/Islander girl was rude in the extreme. Based on reading other Google reviews there seems to be a common theme at this store, rude people who should not be in customer service. My reason for coming into the shop was genuine but I was told "I don't get paid enough to deal with people like you, get out", when I brought up those reasons. FYI, they were: Why is it that an RACV online quote for a new policy is cheaper than the renewal, surely RACV should be there for members and should be rewarding members who have existing policies? and, Why Does RACV discriminate based on marital status charging higher home insurance premiums to couples Vs singles when there is no questions on how many people live in the home, just that more than one person owns it? as it is very much against the law to discriminate on marital status, and, Why is the home insurance premium higher if in my wife's name who is one year older than me when the risk does not change? as it is very much against the law to discriminate on age, and Why does their online quote system do an address lookup and charge a higher premium to an existing policy holder, when I can answer the online quote questions identically but put in my next door neighbours address who is not with RACV and save nearly $100? and, Why does their online quote system do a vehicle registration lookup and charge a higher premium to existing policy holders, yet if I do the online quote without the rego number and just choose the vehicle type from the list I can save nearly $100?
The staff are rude, they do not help, and they do not smile, unless you are buying the insurance from them. After you bought the insurance, they treat you like trash, they are not willing to speak a word with you. I would recommend everyone switch to another insurance provider, and I am not buying RACV anymore !!
Another Star for RACV - Silly me locked myself out of home, panic, panic. then I remembered! RACV Emergency Home Assist. I called them they arrived in about 45mins, Jason I think let me in within the next 5 mins. RACV you are still #1. Thanks David Tucker
Waited for about five seconds before being attended to. After half an hour, I got my car insurance sorted with roadside assist: $20 cheaper than the online quote, and $70 cheaper than my current cover.
Linda was extremely rude over the phone. She got very irritated whilst I was trying to purchase road side assist over the phone. She probably shouldn't be in customer service position.
All good, got my international drivers license and pics taken in no time for my trip.
Closed during business hours for no reason with no prior notice.
Says its open until 10 pm but it actually closed at 5
