Gorgeous afternoon tea in a beautiful country house. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Such a relaxing afternoon in true country house style.Service: 5/5
Wonderful stay, a real stately home experience and what a location, the staff, food outstanding, had a fantastic night's sleep, we will definitely be back
This is beyond a B&B experience, with a beautiful dinner and gracious hosts. We enjoyed the opportunity to experience a stellar venue. Thoughtful attention to every detail for guests is evident.Rooms: 5/5
Appalling This was a very expensive and unsatisfactory experience clumsy, ill equipped and inexperienced staff. Microwave desserts and small portions Not good value. Common, over-decorated interiors that are devoid of class. A shame, as the view is stellar Avoid this place
Loved my room. Great service. Food nice. It's great you can bring the .Rooms: 5/5
Lovely country B&B didn't stay but had hit drinks and met the lovely staff.
Love this place. Fabulous location, brilliant food and welcoming environment.
Grand old house, set in beautiful countryside next to the river Eden, our room or should I say suite was huge - separate living room bathroom and bedroom. Tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. Breakfast good, plenty of selection - but cooked breakfast was underwhelming. For a B&B is was an expensive stay but it was worth it for the house and surroundings countryside. Slight negative - dogs allowed in dining room - not for me - I have no problem with pets but they shouldn't be allowed were food is being served. Staff friendly and helpful
This is the place to stay if you are in the vicinity of Carlisle. Beautiful building, beautiful grounds. Salmon River runs through gardens and supports a wide range of wildlife. Great menu on site and lovely food. Breakfast is lovely with lovely views of the river. Rhubarb is the dog, not the dessert and loves you making a fuss of her. Rooms are huge and retro, similar to how they must have been in the early years of the house but with a modern touch. Owners live on site and happily mingle with guests. Fishing can be booked but it is usually booked up a year in advance. I look forward to returning.
