Wow what a nice place. I had Sunday lunch with my nephew and than they took me to the State Park. Never been here before and I was pleasantly surprised. My two year old nephew loved it, he has just gotten into throwing rocks into the river and there where heaps of rocks, really good skipping ones. I had a swim around the rapids and tunnel, it was very clean and refreshing. Probably wear thongs if you have soft feet as there are lots of sharp rocks in the water. Great day.

so glad friend introduced me! short trip from Preston to a wonderful spot. Slippery and sharp pebbles and rocks on river beach and bed and rapids so I'd recommend wearing wet shoes for grip and comfort or old dunlop volleys.

What a great park. The river is jewel in the crown here. Natural landscape of gumtree and wildlife. Food for the soul

Great, great, great!!! Beautiful park with an interesting water fall (it is actually a hike through the rocks from the mining period). The day use is clean and well maintained. The place is gorgeous and it is worth the ride for a family lunch, trail, or just sit by the water fall and appreciate the river and view!

Total disappointment. Waste of time. Not some place where kids would enjoy. Although good place to walk your dog. Loads dog pop around. I had to be very very careful walking around. People do not pick after their dogs finish. Definitely not a good place.
