I would give them a 4 for quality of the fish & chips, and the sausages are big as stated on the menu. The chips were lovely and crisply golden, the John Dory fillets very good. A little expensive and minimum order of chips is 1 scoup. I end up throwing more than half away, too many chips for even 2 people.

Absolutely delicious!  We visited here and bought 3 "Catch" meals.  The fish was beautifully fresh and chips, squid ring and mussels all lovely.  I would definitely visit Vinnies again if I was in Paihia.

Fast and friendly service and a great location. The prices are moderate when compared to some of the other places around. There isn't much seating, but most people pick up their food and take it down to the beach to eat. There are plenty of trees around to provide shade.

While it's somewhat odd paying a little more than you may think to fry up your own fish that you caught, it sure beats trying to do it yourself especially if you're on holiday. We went fishing and brought back two giant snapper fillets that they fried up very nicely (pretty salty too from both batter and fish) but were delicious freshly hot or refrigerated cold. Obviously very little seating though so likely expect to grab and go.

UPDATE: came back with enthusiasm years later after initial visit and just as friendly and great. Theyre good as suggesting which fish you may like too.

I thought getting fish n chips in a coastal fishing town that the price I was paying would get me a great fresh meal. I was disappointed with over cooked thin hake and fake calamari rings. I was in bed for the rest of the day with food poisoning.
