Victorian Building Authority

Utterly useless organisation. Whether it be their enforcement of industry regulation, to simply becoming registered in your trade. The VBA does it’s best to not take responsibility for anything. The whole agency needs a purge, and to filled with people who actually grasp the point of their role.

I wrote to the VBA concerning issues we have had with our builder. I understood that they are the authority responsible for monitoring the conduct of builders. They simply told me to go to the DBDRV to have the matter resolved. I did not ask the VBA to resolve our matter, simply to alert them to dodgy building practices, but they were simply not interested. What is their purpose?

Sarah and Phyllis in building practitioners registration were not well informed or educated in their area. Phyllis was the team leader and was rude, uninformed, vacant and not willing to help at all. Almost every phone call here is like banging your head against a wall. There is also no complaints department for the VBA itself. Please, can you employ people who have at least minimal industry experience, the public is losing all confidence.
