The location is superb and has a lot of history. The food for this New Years Eve dinner was amazing. The pastry chef is incredible. For the service of this particularly busy night they had to hire extras. The regular staff was great, some of the extras not so much. The property is adjacent to the Parc du Chateau de Versailles and provides for many miles of paved trails allowing for days of walking and discoveries.
For the price you pay here, you can absolutely get better food some place else. Food is subpar, but looks pretty. I would say however, the pastry chef is amazing. The desserts were on point. Going back to the whole experience, you are paying for a prime location, quiet, and next to a beautiful park, but if I’m only rating food, I’d say 3/5
Nice dining at a good location in Versailles. There are many nice restaurants in Versailles, some a bit more casual others like La Veranda are a bit more premium. This comes very much due to being part of the Waldorf Astoria and hence a demanding clientele. But La Veranda does not dissapoint, it delivers a small high class menu. Tried the steak tartare and one of the sorbet desserts, both excellent choices. Wine menu was good too. Service was just right and good response, although it was not extremely busy. Definitely worth a visit. Price level Ok considering it's in a good hotel.
Simply amazing! Starting from the atmosphere, the view, to the tastiest food and amazing service! Wonderful experience that I totally recommend to anyone in Versailles !
The food was delicious. If it weren't because the service was slow and we had a problem with one plate I'd rate the experience 5* The problem was that I ordered Cod "Cabillaud roti" and the plate was really salty, after 3 bites I let my fiancé try it. And she was surprised I was able to eat such a salty plate. The plate was changed by another plate and remove from the invoice. Overall the Waldorf Astoria is a great hotel, the restaurant La Véranda is a good place to eat.
The menu was appealing, the location fantastic, and the dining room lovely. The service was mostly good but a little uneven, and the food was better than average but not special. Our party ordered an entree for two that was served to us and placed on a stand off the table. It seemed from the presentation that they would then serve us seconds. When we asked for that they told us rudely to do it ourselves. It was really the only time in 10 days that anyone was rude to us. Later for desert my husband ordered a cafe viennois and was told NO. Again, not that nicely. It was the only restaurant in France that refused him this simple item. which is often just coffee or espresso and whipped cream.
Good food, expected higher price. So so service.
The interior, the food, the politeness of the staffs everything was fantastic. Usually if you are going a kind of place, I mean Versailles, Waldorf Astoria, Gordon Ramsay restaurant you have an expectations, but I need to tell it is beyond belief...
Fantastic service and amazing food definitely will be back again
So nice, good food, good service!
