This is beautiful accomodation. I love my room and feel very safe. Convenient size for me in the studio. Lovely people and feel welcomed. Beautiful view. Close to uni as I study a lot.
First, living in VT is excellent value for money—it is near essential services across the roadside and Lakeview to the Uni on the other side.nnThe management team at VT is not just excellent, they are a lifeline. Simon, Carolyn, and Georgie on level 1 have given me an unforgettable experience, and I'm sure other residents can attest to this. They handle all inquiries with care and attention, providing timely solutions and making adjustments to meet your needs. Their support is unwavering.nnWhen it comes to information or clarity on any issue with your accommodation or services, the VT team is always there for you. You can rely on the level 1 reception to provide you with prompt and attentive solutions to all your questions.nnAfter a year of residing at VT, I can confidently recommend Varsity Towers to prospective students. The management team's dedication to prioritizing residents’ needs has significantly improved the living experience for all building users.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME n MONEY THERE!!! ‼nI've been in Australia for 16yrs n this was definitely the worst experience I ever with the management, not only Simon but the whole family his daughter and his wife!!!nThe daughter thinks she is amazing and that she can treat people with no respect, however she a receptionist!!! She was rude to me since the first time I went to the reception!!nMoreover, it's UNSAFE!!! The inside car park was with the gate broken and open, the managers didn't fix it and a guy who apparently was going there all the time, STOLEN my Electric Bike which costed me $1.500, another E-Bike and a motorcycle!!!!! The receptionist watched the cameras like if she was doing something extraordinary I believe this is part of her job, no?! and she said that the guy used tools to break the main entrance!! Why would he do that if the gate was broken she thinks I am an idiot!!!!! Hahahahaha! I didn't see any broken gate with tools apart from the garage gate. So she literally lied to me.nI also had an item stolen too!nShe screamed at me at the reception!!! NO ONE that live in that place like the managers!nThe inside car park is ALWAYS empty so the tenants have to park outside?!? Oi???nAnd if u have a visitor they can't park at the visitor's car park, even if the car is registered at the reception. They glue a giant sticker on the window which is actually dangerous because you can't see the through the window, they TOW your CAR or give you fines!!!! The laundry is $16 to wash n dry!!! So expensive omgnWhen I had a problem on the carpet Simon said he couldn't do anything about it, who does then?!nHonestly, more things happened over there that I am not going to mention in respect to the guy and his families, I was the only one helping and next day the managers were obviously RUDE to me again for no reason with something very serious n sad.nWhen I finally left, the apartment looked clean and beautiful but I had to call the RTA in regards my bond. The RTA said that they FAILED to give me the bond back and the RTA had to give it to me!!!!!! Oh I forgot... there is NO recycle bins, it's their obligation to have recycle bins there n I have never seen that either!!!! Horrible service, well done to them!
- Unnecessary charges e.g., cleaning fee for when you move out but when you move in, the room is dirty.n- You also have to pay for laundry which is free for other accommodations.n- Extremely rude reception team.nnIt's just close to Bond Uni, which is convenient for students. But that's the only good thing about Varsity Towers. Go look for other places as much as you can.
I have been staying in Varsity Towers since September 2022. Initially I stayed in a studio apartment, and then shifted into a 2bhk with my friend from January 2023 onwards.nnThe VT team Georgie and Carolyn have been very helpful during our stay at Varsity Towers, however the manager has been rude on multiple occasions towards us.nFor example, a leak in the hallway outside our apartment which was caused by a water blockage in the pipe after water works in the building was blamed on us as we had installed jet sprays in the washroom. Furthermore, he also ridiculed us for using a jet spray and asked “Do you Indians catch your poo using this bum wash?”. We later had to pay a $98 fine for the leak which had nothing to do with the jet spray.nnWe were lucky enough to receive indoor car parking, however there have been nights where we have had to park our car at university since the construction group take up 40% of the car park with their equipment. The only thing I would say the building manager does well is find car which are wrongly parked and stick stickers on the cars which block the view of the side mirror.nnThis building also seems to be under construction throughout the year. For the past year and a half they have been painting the building and changing the windows. The sounds of the drills and hammers they use start at 6am in the morning, so good luck getting a nice sleep. We have also seen random construction workers just standing in our balcony during the day.nnOver the past year, there have been two deaths in the building where the police and ambulance vehicles have come to the building and there has literally been no communication from the reception. We demanded information on the deaths and they acted like nothing had happened, but however they bombarded us with 7 emails regarding a line marking project.nnA couple of times over the last year, the fire alarm has gone off and the whole building was asked to evacuate. It happened once at 3:30am and this was caused by a resident on accident when she was sleepwalking and pressed the fire alarm button.nnThey have increased the rent of the studio i first stayed in which was $275 back then to $330 per week now, and this is the cheapest room. It is on the first floor and is road facing. The only reason they have occupants is due to the proximity to bond university and hardly any competition and hence they can charge based on their will. Majority of the students are study abroad students who have no other option as searching for rentals through agents is very difficult.nnLaundry services are extra and it costs approximately $15 to wash and dry whereas it is free in most of the other accommodations.nnGetting a refund on your bond is extremely difficult as well. We had installed strip lights as the lights provided by them are very dull and they are similar to a night lamp during the night. After vacating the room we decided to leave the strip lights and a weekly planning white board which would help the next occupants as they would be students. We received a mail stating that we would be charged for this as they would need to remove the items and paint the whole wall.nnWe had also purchased an extra fob and keys as another person was moving in with us, and they charged us $200 for that. One of my friend who is now leaving Varsity Towers had lost his fob and I told him to request them to just attach the third fob I had purchased for a 2bhk for which they are making a fuss and charging him additionally.nnHonestly, the only reason we stayed at this property for so long was as it was extremely close to bond university and there were no extra bills apart from electricity. But if anyone was to ask if they should stay at Varsity Towers, I would suggest them to rather book an airbnb and search for a place through flatmates and then shift using agents once they have settled down. For study abroad students, I’d suggest to try to get a place on campus and keep Varsity Towers as your last resort.
