Nov17 Up from one to three stars and should get even better! This Urban Soul Cafe had a bad day when I first visited in October. Today it was sparkling clean, smiling service from the counter staff and fast delivery of nice food and coffee for me and an old friend. Large number of young families mixed in with singles and older couples. Try the slightly off-beat desserts and dishes. They'll reward you with new tastes! 7Oct17 3:05PM Maybe this place will have better days and better service? What else do you, the customer, do when you've paid for your relatively expensive lunch order and you sit at your table for five minutes and ask about your milk shake but you still wait more than ten minutes? The place is not busy. Finally your milk shake arrives but the waiter wobbles on the way to your table and the glass is dripping with overflow! Then you open your cutlery combo (knife and fork wrapped in a serviette) and you find that the serviette is dirty inside? Uughhh ... Shortly after 2:00PM on a Saturday afternoon we walked into this cafe-bistro. We'd heard about an Urban Soul opening in Karaka. So we made a special trip. The coffee arrived quickly. So did my guest's wine order and savoury dish. But the rest of the experience including the unsmiling young woman at the order-counter ... ? Can only get better.

I have visited this cafe on a few occasions for work functions and the food has always been fantastic. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the coffee is good too. This place is worth a visit.

Getting disappointed. Food not great especially dinner service. Lunch better or a quick coffee is fine. So much potential with a huge client base...just missing the mark on so many things.

Not particularly impressed. Began with requesting a table in the corner as we had a toddler with us who we knew would enjoy the toys they have there. Was told no tables were available there. This was despite there being only 4 tables out of 15 being used. Figured they may have been booked, but no one used them from start to finish. No customer service was shown to us at all, our waitress didn't greet us at all and didn't even offer a smile. Even the table next to us had to get up to get waitresses twice within our first 5 minutes. Was excited to bring my family here as I have had great service at the Manukau location, but was not worth it.

Used to be my local till they stopped bruch before 11 30. Sorry but I don't have time for bread and eggs for breakfast I'm 103kgs I need a proper meal. Sure you have a valid business reason for the change but you lost a 3-4 day a week customer x 2 if you incl the wife.
