Story

The Pizza Box is a family run and orientated restaurant/cafe, owned by Angela and Karl Deadman and has two restaurants that are situated in Pukekohe and Papakura. Originally only selling Pizza when it opened in Pukekohe in December 2001, the Pizza Box has grown phenomenally in both its menu and customer base over the past 9 years with its friendly and vibrant atmosphere, excellent food and its outstanding service. The Pizza Box offers everything from brunch and lunch to gourmet pizza, pasta, fresh salads, desserts, cakes and beautiful authentic italian Bruno Rossi espresso- all made on site daily. The Pizza Box now also offers a Gluten Free menu and corporate catering for meetings or special occasion. Nice setup but food being rather average. Price is comparable to the likes of urban soul and melba but the food quality is much below. Big breakfast filled with cheap items incl plain white toast basic sausage and more. Gourmet pancakes. Nicely presented but focus on the pancake quality instead of load of fruits on top. Who can eat that much sugar for breakfast. Wait time was well above average on a standard day.

Good service here! I'm a sucker for pleasant customer service, and the staff at Papakura Pizza Box are always pleasant and polite. On their menu they have a very wide variety of gourmet pizzas, ranging from salmon and avocado to apricot chicken. Also on their menu is a modest range of gourmet burgers, which I cannot recommend enough. The coffee is great, there's not much bad you could say about the Pizza Box!

Last Sunday 21st January I took my husband for lunch to the Pizza box and ordered an open stack sandwich. I have told the waitress who took my order that I wanted my steak to be cooked rear. When I received the dish it was nicely presented but when I started eating my meal the steak was raw , very salty and not what I have ordered. I have noticed also that the chips had a greyish appearance and I was puzzled why it was that colour. I have called one of the waitress to the table and asked how that steak was cooked. And to my surprise it had been cooked in the oven and not pan fried. Of all my years dining in a restaurant I have never been had a steak cooked that way. I was really disappointed and no offer was made to replace the steak but was told that the coffee was complimentary. Regards Marguerite Tracy

Really good menu choices, both pizza, pasta and more. Delicious smoothies and yummy desserts. Nice, clean and relaxed atmosphere. Staff are lovely too. All round great place to eat.

Friendly staff, nice selection of food. Great for meetings as there is plenty of room and not noisy.
