This place has what you would expect from a bakery but a surprising find of Malaysian food. A few Malaysian social media forums have highlighted this place before, and boy, did it not disappoint.nnI visited this eatery on a weekday at 3 pm, and it was still packed. Believe it or not, by around 3.30pm, they were sold out of all cooked food. I was lucky to manage to score a bowl of Penang Asam Laksa and it did not disappoint. This was one dish I wanted to have as not all Malaysian restaurants in Australia or even Malaysia would be serving it. The broth was flavoursome with loads of fish and spices. It delivered an amazingly complex flavour of sour, spicy, sweet, umami all in one. The flavours of torch ginger bud, lemongrass, chilli, and sour notes from tamarind came through beautifully. It was spicy but still a manageable heat.nnAnother highlight i wanted to make was there was only 1 floor staff and she was amazingly efficient. She single-handedly took all orders, cleared the tables, collected payments and even delivered all the ordered dishes from patrons. All of this while wearing a smile and remained in a very positive demeanour.nnI didnt manage to try the other dishes but happy to come back here again for just this noodle dish.
One of our favourite places to eat in Katoomba. The food is authentic, fresh and so tasty. Great hot chocolate, coffee and chocolate cake, bee sting etc. Affordable, and great for families. Also has a small outside area to sit and eat, on a sunny day.nGets busy, but worth the wait.nnWe return here, regularly. A family group of 5 :
Wow! I didn't expect this in Katoomba.nThe food was authentic and tasted delicious.nThe range of food offered here is amazing for a Patisserie.nThe Asian lady serving us was a excellent. She was friendly and helpful. She recommended some dishes that turned out to be on point.nThe desserts are excellent and is good value. Check the pics to see.
Love the food and met my expectations on Malaysian taste. I like the bak kut teh and asam laksa the most. Will definitely be back to try other food.
Was leaving Blue Mt in the morning n decided to hv early lunch.nnVisited Unique Patisserie around 11+am while it was still not so many guests.nnOrdered the Penang nasi goreng and a black coffee. The fried rice was delicious and flavourful. It was of the spicy side, so if you are up to spicy food, do tell them you don't want it too hot.nnPrice was reasonable as the portion was good enough for two. Service was OK, not great, but does the job. Food came promptly. Ambience of the eatery was pleasant with a bit of that old retro feel.nnParking was not an issue if you are driving. Roadside parking easily available.nnThey're was also a good variety of cakes n pies. So if you are to pastry n such, this could be the place for you.nnBy the time we left about 12+, more than half the restaurant was filled.
