I’ve always wanted to try this place every time I’m in the Blue Mountains region. Luckily, during my last visit, I finally managed to stop by the Blackheath location, and I was not disappointed. The croissants were crusty, flaky, and held their shape perfectly.
I love their pies, the filling is tasty and the pastry is rich and flaky, though sometimes a little soggy in the middle. The tarts we had for dessert were great.nThey are on the expensive side though, and the 15% surcharge on a Sunday on top of the already pretty high prices was a little much.
Had a couple of pies here, beef and gravy & beef and Guiness, and a sausage roll here.nThe fillings were brimming with meaty chunks of beef, was very tasty.nOnly gave 3* because the base was very soft and made it hard to hold and eat. Sausage rolls were good.nAtmosphere was rustic.nHad heaters which was great to get get out of the cold and wet weather today.nPrice was $8-10 per pie.
Literally found a hair embedded in the pastry in the pie. Absolutely disgusting like literally I'm about to vomit Plus, they cost $11 because of the Sunday fee which is just ridiculous and the chick who served me didn't want to do a split payment or touch the money even though it was two dollars off because I didn't know they had a fee they add on on Sunday absolutely rude service she was quite up herself and on top of that it was $22 and I found a hair embedded in the pastry. That's absolutely disgusting and ridiculous and do not eat here. I feel extremely sick from eating the pies as well and I tried to contact them and call them and they are not answering to make a complaint because it's ridiculous. The prices Plus, there was a hair in my food and the pies do not taste nice. I taste quite water down the mixture of the meat and it doesn't taste good at all taste off.
Got the mince and potato pie following the staff’s recommendation. $9 but the pie was hefty. The mince was gamey which I liked! The pastry was average, wasn’t flaky and thick and dry. On the edge and collapsing the middle.nn$6 for a coffee is pretty outrageous.
