I came in on 21/12/20, as I'd taken a chunk out of my arm falling off my bike. The lady at the front desk was polite/professional, but the nurse I saw Johnstone- I could see her name as the nurse taking me on her computer screen as I waited for her was rude. First of all when I came in she went off for 5 or so minutes for an undisclosed reason. Then she proceeded to communicate in an abrupt annoyed manner, carried on when I couldn't remember when my last tetanus shot was etc. It turns out shed taken one look at my wound and thought it wasn't serious enough for a consultation who would wait for an hour or whatever if they didn't need assistance?. When she actually took the time to look at the wound, she said it was "beyond my capability to treat and you'll have to go to the ER to get it stitched up.
A nurse named Maria that works here is absolutely amazing. Kind, professional and thorough. I cannot thank her enough. My daughter walked out afterwards even after wait times being lengthy everywhere saying she is my favourite nurse
I entered the walk in clinic at around 1545, to have a cut looked at. As of 1700, it has still not been looked at. I fail to see what advantage this place has over the Canberra Hospital's emergency department. I would definitely not recommend attending this vicinity, to anyone. Health care services in the ACT are becoming more execrable, by the day.
My wife fell at work and attended the Clinic for first aid. The quality of care and the referral notes made by the Nurse were outstanding. Brilliant service!
Visited Tuggeranong Walk-in Centre this morning and was treated by nurse Kylie. She provided excellent service and assurance for my wound on my arm. She provided very good advice and care. I felt she really cared. This big wound has been causing me lots of grief. Previously I have also seen other nurses at this Centre and all of them have been very good and did their utmost to assist me. The lady at the Reception today was very good, friendly and welcoming. A big thank you to all in the clinic, especially to Kylie I have now seen three times. I recommend visiting this Clinic.
The nurses are extremely slow and would rather speak to their co-workers than help people. When they do “help” they seem to not care at all. Very poor service will be going to Belconnen next time.
You're looking at over 2.5 hr wait time on a work day, I entered around 11AM for a simple skin injury. This is despite many people leaving voluntarily due to excessive wait times or being a case unsuitable for walk in clinic management. Need more nurses Canberra...reception was nice , the nurse that treated me was excellent. 2 stars purely on wait time. I also note people that came in after me where taken in before me which is very frustrating given the first in first served treatment schedule.
I went to the tuggeranong walk in clinic today for my sore throat. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with an unwelcoming lady by the name of Barb or Barbra. She seemed unhappy and like she didn’t want to be there but also like she didn’t want me to be there either. Considering she’s the first person you see and are greeted by when you come in she’s not very welcoming and makes you feel like you shouldn’t be here for the injury/illness you’re suffering with. Some of the nurses were quite rude to the patients upon calling them into the rooms especially Michelle, she seemed quite cranky and unwelcoming as if she just wanted people to leave. There was nothing entertaining in the waiting room apart from the one TV in there it is also the most bland waiting room I’ve had to wait in. At least decorate the place nicer. Due to the nastiness of the staff the environment doesn’t feel safe to be in and I wouldn’t have come to the clinic if I didn’t have to. The only good thing about my visit was the nurse that I saw, her name was Theresa and she was so kind and welcoming upon greeting me. She turned the environment into a safe one, my only issue was she wanted to give me antibiotics for my tonsillitis but couldn’t? Or wasn’t allowed to? I don’t understand why that is. I had arrived at around 11:30am and left at about 1pm but this wait time was understandable due to the back log of patients that day. At about 12:30 everyone was moving and the back log became less of a concern. Overall, I really wouldn’t recommend going here unless you really really have to. It’s better to just see your GP. I only came because the next appointment I could get with my GP was in 2 weeks time which is too long of a wait. Do better Tuggeranong walk in clinic. Also despite all your bad reviews you haven’t made noticeable changes to better your practice? Kinda says you don’t really care enough to make your patients time spent with you a comfortable time rather than what you’re currently doing.
Wonderful people who work there. They always make me feel safe, welcomed and cared for. I'm forever thankful to their kindness, support and care. Thank you all
As much as I appreciate the professional care of the nurses/NP's at this practice they are still limited in their scope. I am puzzled how walk in centres relieve the over burdened health system when they a have no doctors and b are closed over the long weekend??? Not helpful with long waits/limited opening hours for GPs. Not surprising so many people are still forced to go to emergency for things which could have been managed in community if they were properly funded and resourced.
