The location is good with the beach accessible from the park and a good pub across the road but we were given a site for the caravan in the area where the permanent campers are and there are no sullage pits, no grass not even one blade. The sites are big enough but lots of trees to manoeuvre around and dusty dirt sites. The amenities are fine with hot water but I expected a bit better than this in Torquay. I have stayed in far better caravan parks in small country towns. We will not be returning to this park.
I stayed in a glamping pod over the weekend and had a wonderful experience. The pods are very nice, comfortable bed and have a microwave, kettle and mini fridge for snacks and meals. The amenities are only a minute walk away and are clean and require a code to access, making them feel very safe. The surf beach is quite literally a minutes walk away, with the front beach being around 10 minute walk. I came without a car and still found Torquay and the caravan park to be very walkable, even though I found myself getting lost quite a lot in the caravan park. I’m sure my next stay I’ll be more familiar.nThey do require you to clean the dishes you use and take your trash out, which I can understand but it did make me wonder if they are sanitised for the next guests.nAlso a critique that I can’t exactly blame the park for-around the tents and glamping pods it smells terribly of urine. I think guests in the past have just simply gone next to their accomodation instead of just walking less than a minute to the toilet. Maybe to help deter this in the future you could add something to the information book in the roomsif there isn’t already
I spent two nights here on a powered campsite, the park is very big, very close to coffee shops and restaurants.nIt has direct access to the beach through a gate and not far from the incredible Bells beach.nGreat price, great amenities.nWill definitely visit here again
Where do I start. This was the worst place I have ever stayed at and the staff so rude and unhelpful. Rented a 2 bedroom cabin. Broken security door would not close. Broken heater, tv remote not working needed new batteries, Plug in bathroom sink not holding water. And the worst thing that happened was the park ran out of gas and left us there for 2 days with no hot water and no cooking facilities as it was a gas stove. We wanted to leave but they would not guarantee any refund whatsoever - we received 1 text message 1 day into the gas issue and then nothing - we were totally left in the lurch and they could not have cared less about their customers. Poor service and no offer if any compensation at all. It ruined our holiday and we payed a premium rate for this cabin. We were also staying with other couples who had rented cabins as well - they were treated poorly by the staff about parking. They rented 2 bedroom cabins for 2 couples but on arrival got told they had to pay for 2 cars to be parked next to their unit. Also if you did not leave the park before 10am checkout on the dot you would be charged $75 extra. We understand policies around this but it’s the way it was communicated that was poor. And the way the staff members spoke to them was not acceptable. Be wary coming to this place. You think it’s nice due to the location but a park this size to have cabins with much needed maintenance and then run out of gas is just not acceptable for the price you pay. Think carefully before booking this place.
Stayed on a powered site, was neat and tidy. Amenities were clean, camp kitchen had everything you needed.nDownside was a permanent site were building a deck all day Saturday and Sunday morning, all we heard was a drop saw and drills, you would think their would be restrictions on when work could be completed.
