Was a lovely night , lovely staff , Amazing food and stunning views. Highly recommend the lamb racks and the venison, that is what me and my partner got. He also proposed to me on the night which also made the night special . Thank you everyone at top sail for the lovely service and will definitely be coming back :=)

Food was excellent so was the service and setting. Defiantly need to be sat at window setting to get the real feel of it all as the ultimate experience. Thank you TopSail defiantly be back. Would be nice to see our local Manaia Craft Brewers on the drinks menu, based in whangarei heads... Credit to the owners!

Totally overrated. Very disappointed. It's quite expensive which is fine but the tables look cheap, there was a noticeable chip on the surface at our table - are you not able to buy proper tables?? The waitress and front-of-house-manager seem disorganized, getting in the way of each other. The space is small which is fine but when the manager was waiting to place a plate of food onto the table behind us while the waitress was clearing their other plates, the manager was waiting standing right next to my wife...completely ignorant! no respect for personal space!! GO STAND SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! If the place is too small then spend some money and make it bigger!! Don't stand rudely close next to your dinners when you're waiting to serve another table!! Then she came and served us...she said she had to go by saying "HANG ON" - really??? If I was White I bet she would have said, "Please excuse me while I go and check...". I ordered special lamb rack...Nothing special about this dish apart from that it was remarkably unremarkable. Very very average. They played Bob Dylan's whole disc - My wife and I are big fans of Dylan and this seem to be one of his relatively latest albums...and the music was terrible! The disc almost every song sounded the same and Dylan's voice is very monotone at the best of times. Dylan's music is an acquired taste so why you would play one of his songs let alone that whole album was bad and embarrassingly pretentious. Definitely the worse music selection at a fine dining restaurant I have ever heard. There was just nothing redeeming about this restaurant at all apart from wanting to leave asap! Thank god they're not open more days!!! Unless they drop their prices by at least a third, definitely would not go again. Drive two hours south and go to Auckland if you want real fine dining experience! Should be named top (mud) soil!

Whangarei's best fine dining. Beautiful views. Small restaurant with personal service.
