Great dinner! I've ordered stir fry vegan ramen and it was beautiful! Also vegan dumplings, very tasty! It's great that they have a vegan menu with many options :
Decided to dine here because it had a fair few good reviews. Ordered large sashimi platter. Waitress came out as she served other food and told us they had ‘run out’. This should have been known from moment of ordering. Ramen broth is neither thick or creamy. Octopus, dumplings were over fried and oily Agedashi tofu was pleasant. Beef tataki was not tender, and not enough ponzu dressing. Ordered udon in soup and it arrived as fried udon. The bill came with the sashimi platter charged, and we had to request it to be reversed as their sashimi was not available. Customer service here is very mediocre. Staff difficulty understanding English, wave arms around for service due to poor attention through night.
Poor hospitality, made to wait outside in heat for takeaway order, not allowed to stay in aircon with other paying customers. First time last time. Wouldn't recommend.
Fast service and delicious food!! Best place for Japanese food in Cairns by far. I highly recommend the pork dumplings and the kaarage chicken. The ramen is delicious but definitely a winter meal

Tokyo dumpling is a fast paced traditional Japanese restaurant you must visit. Everything g is always perfect. It’s very suitable for groups or a quick little bite before work to romantic dinners. We’ve always had perfect food. The dumplings are great and it’s got flavour and friendly staff. They do have a bit of a mark up as they are one of the most popular restaurants in Cairns. You get everything to have a perfect Japanese feast though... so we come here all the time! H guy I’ve it a try and make it your local. Been here a couple of times. Most recently ordered the crumbed chicken Japanese curry. It was a little more spicy than I've had at many other places but flavour was still enjoyable. The food didn't take long to be served, had no issues with the service, and the reasonably priced.
The short version: Clean restaurant, prompt service, tasty food. The long version: the Beef Tataki was delicious, cold and juicy with flavour. The spicy Tokotsu Ramen came with long, textured, bitey noodles and a soup that made my nose run. Just about perfect. Personally I thought there were too many bean sprouts in my ramen--but I dislike bean sprouts and some of you out there love em. My suggestion is order away. Service is friendly, the food is genuine and leaning towards hearty over fancy and the Kirin Megumi has just the right bite to cut through chili oil in many of the dishes. The place itself has a clean, polished feel you might expect of a fancier or dare I say corporate restaurant...but it's just this one place in Carins that wants you to know you're sitting down to something good.
Great friendly service. Had pork dumplings, tonkotsu ramen, dumpling soup and spring rolls. All were absolutely fantastic! Reasonably priced. Highly recommend.
