The staff are kind and they speak Japanese to me twice by two different person lol Food were nice and better than expectation! I enjoyed the WagYu sirloin and the excellent service provided!!
Best seafood We have ever eaten in either Sydney Gold Coast or Port Douglas, seafood is our favourite dine out experience and in the last 16 yrs nothing has topped our meals, highly recommend this very affordable lovely atmosphere great service very attentive staff. Bonus has great views of the Marina. Thank you M Yogo !!!!
Unfortunately M Yogo was not good. The food was definitely not what i would call french. We ordered two dishes. The salmon spinach pasta and the lobster mornay. The pasta was ok and i have no complaint about that dish. Was it good enough to get me back? No. But it was edible. The lobster mornay however was the worse i have ever seen. The lobster was not cleaned. The mornay sauce wasnot there at all the lobster was overcooked. When we asked what we had been served we were told that was how alot of the asain customers prefer it. Thats fine but that shoukd be what is on the menu then because we were not served lovster mornay. The kitchen then cleaned the lobster and served it as it should have been served the first time however the lobster meat had a very unpleasant flavor due to first being cooked on its own filth the first time and of course it was now overcooked. To be honest the early warning signs were there when the restaurant is all but empty and next door was full so probably should not have gone in the first place. Cairns has so many great restaurants unfortunately this is not one. On a positive note staff were friendly. Restaurant was clean and in a nice location. Menu was reasonably priced, now they just need to learn what french cuisine is and how to cook it.
Great location over looking the boats and really nice food. I have been to this restaurant several times over many years and I have never been disappointed which is not what I could say for many other restaurants in Cairns. My fav is fresh oysters to start then either the duck or the steak with a ozzy Shiraz to follow.
3 of us went for the lunch special 3 choices of main and a drink for $20 or 2 courses for $30. Great setting on the verandah overlooking The boats.. Wine came quickly and we all orded a different main . I had the Musael entre. Divine black mussels in the most delicious broth. Truely 5 star. My friend Chicken main was the star of lunch. The fish was pretty good as well. But my pork shoulder was raw. No one was in cooee distance so i had to take my plate physically inside and show them raw pork. They gave me a complementary wine and went to cook again. By the time i got my lunch one of my friends had finished and the other had nearly finished and my dish anyway was the weakest of the 3. Then one friend finished off with a spectacular 5 star coconut mango dessert. Would have been a 4 .5 star dining experience if not for raw pork.
Went here for lunch, wow... the food was amazing, delicious, and for $20 each we had a glass of wine and garlic bread. The waiting staff were friendly and professional too. Shall be dining here more often.
Superb and highly awarded French cuisine. The menu is broad but simple enough not to confuse the pleasure of choosing. We shared starters of confit salmonalmost a meal in itself and a scallops dish followed by a Lobster in a champagne sauce and a Wagyu ribeye with red wine jous. Each dish was worthy of the accolades chef Masa has received. We will definitely be back. BTW, Four cinqe ramen bar is owned by the same people, there ramen is excellent and my favourite in Cairns.
Very, very tasty! This restaurant is a very good one! I went there for Christmas eve with my girlfriend, and it was a very good choice. One little critic? the waiters telling you "no worries, mates" or "cheers". Maybe not the best way to speak in this kind of restaurant.
WOW! Now this guy knows what he is doing. Chef Masa Yogo has mixed his long years as a Japanese Chef with classical French cuisine. The results are amazing. Fabulous meals presented like works of art. The owner says the 'M' is for 'mature' but I say it stands for magnificent. This restaurant is a MUST DO when in Cairns. The place has one of those menu's where you just want to try everything. Lucky for us we are here for a week. Bravo Chef Masa - you invented Frapanese Food.
Visited today for lunch. Cant rate this restuarant high enough. . .The meals were absolutely delicious, great value for money. . And the service, it is a credit to M Yogo. . We have been here on holidays and have not had exceptional service like we had today. . Thank You. . .
