Complete with my hat, water and a friend, this was a pleasant ridgeline hike to three easy to access natural lookouts ... a carpark on the opposite side of the road to the entrance is safe and convenient. If you are staying in Kangaroo Valley, then this and the short drive down the road to the dam are worth the time and effort.
It's all about the end view with these walks. Beautiful open cliff edge rock platforms await at the end of the Lake Yarrunga View Trail - which provides the best views of the three trails here. The dirt track is easy grade, wide and level however not as picturesque as the end views. There's also not much shade cover along the track so bring hats/sunscreen. Tips: - Entry to this trail is not sign posted. Look out for the '100' speed limit signage flanking both sides of the road. There is a small parking area to one side of the road and the trail gate is right opposite the parking area. - Pack a bite and spend a lovely afternoon soaking up some sunshine on a rock platform.
This is a relatively easy walk. A little uneven, but I would think most ppl could manage it. Going out to the Lake lookout and the Tallowa Dam lookout, we were rewarded with fabulous views. Reminders of last year's bushfire are everywhere, but so is the evidence of nature's resilience. Looking forward to visiting again in spring.
Beautiful set of three short walks, really flat and family friendly, clear signage, at track start pictured. 9km if you walk all three tracks but great simple short walks on their own. Very open cliffs! Would be suitable for a off road pram
9k combined easy walking- there and back for each view. Pretty exposed fire trails so be prepared if hot but the view back over the dam is worth it! If you have to choose one of the three I would choose the dam view as it was the best of the three for me - there wasn’t much water in river when I visited!
Easy walk meandering through bushland that will take you to great views of the Shoalhaven river. Surface is sandy. Great to see bush regeneration after the fires earlier this year.
9.8km walk in total. The track consists of 3 views: Shoalhaven river, Tallowa river and Lake Yarrunga.
Nice fairly flat track. Very nice view at the end. Recovering well after the fires.
A easy walk to do with children, all flat with a broad fire trail to follow, well signposted at junctions and what absolutely breathtaking views at the end!!
Worth it for the views for sure. But the three trails itself are a bit boring compared to some other trails around. Still nice and especially the Shoalhaven river view is amazing, but not worth to do it again. Very easy 9k walk, which took us 2h15m to complete, very accessible for every level.
