One of my favorite national parks in NSW, lots to see in a relatively small area. Trekking through the Budawang provides a true sense of wilderness and adventure.
Great place and views. Great walking trails. Toilets and facilities. Near major roads. Nearby to lots of small towns. Nearby if driving to lots of good quality coffee shops and restaurants.
Castle Mountain one of the best hike in Australia
Beautiful scenery on the way to one of the best camping grounds around NSW
Very interesting hiking path, but not easy to find the way, be careful about it, dont be over confident about the time. I spent too much time in finding ways back. It's impossible to find the way back when it is dark, because there is no way at all. You have to check the red arrows on the rocks and color ribbon on branches to find the right direction. But in the night, your head torch can only light on spots which makes it much much more difficult to find the way. So start early, especially for the winter, avoid night walk. There is a nice cave at the half way which can be used to stay over.night
We spent a few nights bushwalking up the castle and back. Fantastic walk with great views but be careful as the path isnt clearly marked in a few spots towards the top. There is a visitors book if you keep walking towards the far end of the plateau facing mount pigeon house
Pure beauty and rugged terrain
I've only driven through Budawang National Park on the Kings Highway, to and from the Bateman's Bay coast, views of the National park are quite beautiful.
