Disappointing Experience at The Warehouse Oamaru: Rude and Unprofessional StaffnnMy recent visit to The Warehouse in Oamaru left me incredibly disappointed due to the behaviour of a checkout clerk. After placing my items on the counter and putting the shopping basket underneath, the staff member asked for the basket. Since she had already started scanning my items, I was focused on packing my bags and acknowledged her request with a nod and a hum.nnShe then demanded in a firm tone, “Give me the basket, sir! … Or don’t you speak English?” I found this remark unnecessary and rude, and I told her so. She insisted it wasn’t rude and that her comment was justified.nnAfter completing the transaction, she didn’t ask if I wanted a receipt or offer one. Instead, she immediately began complaining to the next customer about “this guy” and claimed her remark was normal. The next customer even pointed out that it was inappropriate to speak about a previous customer that way, but she didn’t seem to care.nnBefore she could start ringing up the next customer’s items, I politely asked for my receipt and left the store, for the last time. I won’t be returning to The Warehouse in Oamaru after this experience.nnThis review has also been sent to The Warehouse via the Customer Feedback Survey.
Good variety, friendly helpful staff
My recent shop was in Dunedin Warehouse. To my surprise I could buy everything I wanted. Give North Otago a break warehouse group, Send Oamaru clothing like Dunedin has, catering for all people big and small We have need missing out far to long.
Lovely staff, no problem at all to exchange. Disappointed by 1 very rude male customer who tried to brow beat a young lady at the customer service desk, but was totally impress with the smooth and firm way in which she answered him. I must add that he also threatened the young lady with Consumer act. Totally confident young lady, firm and polite. She had just finished talking with me in regard to my exchange items. Big tick to Warehouse staffer.
Great lady we usually get. Always has a smile and talks. Went in yesterday and another lady did her utmost to help in jewellery dept. Even tho could not help she was brilliant - so great staff!
