The Standard Hotel is a charming pub, warm and inviting with a beautifully decorated interior and a massive heated beer garden. We snagged a spot next to the open fireplace, adding a cozy touch to our visit.nnWe started with a bottle of rosé, snacking on olives and focaccia while eagerly awaiting our chicken parmigianas. The parmas didn’t disappoint; hefty free-range chicken breast with a perfectly crisp crumb, topped with prosciutto, Napoli sauce, mozzarella, and even feta. Served with a fresh salad and crispy chips, it was a fantastic meal. The use of prosciutto in place of the traditional ham was a standout twist.nnThis Parma definitely ranks in our top 5! Overall, a great pub feed in a hidden gem of a pub and once you find it, you'll keep coming back.

We came with a small group of friends for ANZAC day to watch the AFL. The pub inside is pretty standard, with the bar in the middle. Staff are friendly but had to deal with the greater volume of orders which meant they could be a bit brusque. The schnitzel ordered was great, well fried and crispy. The beer garden is decently sized but we had to keep moving tables as apparently they were booked for the gametime despite no one showing up. The crowd outside seemed a bit disinterested in the game which dried up the atmosphere. Overall a nice place in Fitzroy with good food and drinks but lacked a buzzing atmosphere.

Great place for a Sunday session! Quiet neighbourhood, but great vibes inside and out doors! Loved the picnic table setting outsidennFood and service were great! Get the beef ball croquettes

I'm a wedding photographer, I couldn't resist sharing my experience with you all. Although I didn't shoot a wedding there, I did manage to capture some fantastic photos of the soon to be married within the next few hours lol during my visit, and I have to say, this pub is a photographer's dream, really.nnA timeless, classic atmosphere that makes for some seriously stunning shots, from the cozy interior to the charming exterior, every corner of this pub is photo-worthy.nnOf course, it isn't just about aesthetics - the food and drink are also top-notch! It was not my first time visiting tbh. They have a great selection of local brews so go check them out.nnIt's a real hidden gem and I think everyone will love it.

Had a 1pm lunch on a Wednesday, was quiet but service fantastic and the meals were perfect in the surprisingly huge sunlit beer garden. Great little front bar area where locals start to filter in around 3, friendly staff. Will definitely be going back.
