Called in for a lunch here as its a good place for my coeliac wife to eat. Their gf options are somewhat limited, and have never changed, so getting a little boring eating the same thing each time. I had their special Fettuccine for lunch which was delicious, but I thought it was a bit expensive for a lunch, took a long time to arrive, and there was way too much. I usually eat a lot, but it was too much for me. Still, a good place to visit occasionally with friendly staff. Dietary restrictions: Several gluten free options available, but the options have never changed in a long time.
Super disappointed! Went in today - ordered the hash stack and it was absolutely tiny for the price we paid. Not only that - we waited 20 minutes AFTER we had finished our meals for our coffees to arrive, and once they did - they were horrid.
We have to the Raft several times and always happy with the service and food. Last weekend we went with friends for lunch. Big disappointment. While I know staffing is an issue for hospitality the wait staff all looked very inexperienced. The young man bringing our food wandered past the table 3 times! Our friends ordered before us, their food never arrived for quite some time, in fact I inquired about their order because of the delay. We ordered french toast, dry, slightly burnt and not a hint of cinnamon. The banana was waved over some heat and the maple syrup was a drizzle on the edge of the plate. On the bright side, our friends meals were great. I guess extra effort was made to make up for the wait.
Just visited for morning tea with a family. Cabinet food was really sub par, two stale biscuits at a cost of $5.80 each. Other food was flavourless and quality wasn’t great, portion sizes small for the price. Only plus was one caramel slice out of the 5 items, that was pretty good.
I often have a late lunch at the Raft. Eating a little later allows for selected seating providing views of the ever changing seaviews just across the road. I find a good selection from the menu always served with a side salad. Good choice of healthy fresh fruit drinks, tea, coffee or an ale. Enjoy.Food: 4/5
The place was clean and tidy. Wait staff were hit and miss. Barrister made a great coffee. And was freindly. The Person serving me at the counter.. wasnt the most pleasent. The food looked good. But unfortunatley the bacon was beyond crispy.
Popped in for lunch with a friend. Ordered cold pasta salad, choc brownie and vege quiche. Took 35 long minutes to arrive, and it wasn't busy. People who arrived after us got their food a long time before we did. Pasta was OK, choc brownie was delicious, quiche was delicious, but accompanying mesclan lettuce leaves had no dressing so was very boring. Be prepared to wait for average food. Vegetarian options: Vege quiche was delicious, but please add a dressing to your lettuce leaves Parking: Plenty of parking
The service was very poor. The staff didn't know who ordered what they were running around like headless chickens. They forgot our order and had to be reminded. The only good thing about the place the food was good.
This is the second time I have visited since the new owners have taken over. The place has really gone downhill. Dirty windows, food all over the floor, sticky tables and food not cleared. No cutlery on tables, and couldn't find any napkins. Had to ask for them. Come on guys, you need to clean up your act!
Food was great but the service was sub par. Took over 15 minutes for an iced coffee and ice chocolate. When I asked how long it will take no one seemed to know and took a further 5 minutes for the drinks to finally arrive. Quite disappointed with how they handled it and certainly won’t be coming back.
