The Pivotonian Cinema is a modest, single cinema venue in the works of being extended to 2 cinemas that screens hand-picked films from around the world. They have a fully licensed Candy Bar with a small but satisfying selection of local beer and wine. Snacks are limited but popcorn is abundant and I highly recommend the @patandstick ice cream sandwiches! There is a booth at the rear of the reception and stools at the bar if having a yarn and a laugh with the staff is your thing like mine Cinema seating is allocated and there is also a few bean bags at the front of the cinema if you prefer to stretch out and kick back. The Pivotonian is a fully accessible venue, serviced by 7 major bus routes. South Geelong station is also at the end of the street which are both convenient transport options as parking at the venue is limited. Pivotonian offers memberships, with discounted tickets and gift cards. Staff are laid back, sending out a very relaxed and welcoming vibe. A cool alternative to your usual main stream cinema experience. ‼ Disclaimer: I was so busy eating my ice cream sanga at the beginning of the night and too busy talking to the stranger sat next to me at the end of the movie, that I literally forgot to get a photo of the actual cinema. I know, I know! ‍ So let’s get creative and use our incredible imaginations - think small but accommodating, cosy and intimate, with burgundy seating and lots of leg room! Fun fact: Pivotonian was the old name for the people of what we now know to be - Geelong! Known back in the Gold Rush era as Pivot City.
Friendly staff. Relaxed environment with a relaxed vibe. Love the way the gift bags are given and the chill manner the staff do business. The establishmentn is so cool and the location is better than others if you can find a better place in this niche market I will challenge you to a pie eating contest
Lovely cinema which hosts a wide variety of art house and some main stream movies. Staff are alway nice and helpful and you can take a drink into your movie. Gold!
Love the pivotonian...... Great selection of extraordinary cinema films. Just like a small, private gold class but at regular prices ,no extra charge. Choc tops, jaffles, popcorn and champagne. Do yourself a favour and support this fantastic local buisness
If you are wanting to enjoy a quiet evening without the hassles of mass crowds. This is the most wonderful little boutique cinema. The place to be.....
Me & my boyfriend had a voucher that couldn’t be used online so had to get one of the staff to book us in for Elvis and then we’d show our paper voucher on arrival. We turned up a few minutes late and our reservation apparently wasn’t on their system but the guy was so so helpful and kind and got us really good seats super last minute last night. Also the pendant lights in the cinema were a vibe!! We will be back!
Great movies and coffee delivered to your seat...what's not to love!
What a little gem of a cinema, even if there is only one screen it was mentioned that there may be two at some future stage. The staff are very helpful and friendly, and the cost of the drinks, etc., are reasonable, as was the cost of the film. The seats were very comfortable, and the screen was large. The film was "The Duke", which may not be to everyone's taste, but I found it engrossing and entertaining but I've yet to see any film in which I've been disappointed by Jim Broadbent or Helen Mirren, so I suppose I'm biased.
I've been wanting to visit this place for ages and I have to say that it was a fabulous experience, the seats were incredibly comfortable and the service and food was great Really enjoyed watching Elvis Movie here.
Great little cinema,will be back
