I took my mum here for her birthday. We indulged in the high tea with a glass of bubbles. I am a huge lover of high teas, and I have been to many different places and I can honestly say that The Palace Tea Room tops the list so far. The staff were lovely and accomodating and the food was delicious. Sometimes with high teas you find some sweets that you don’t like, but everything was fresh and delicious. There wasn’t anything we didn’t like, and there were only a few crumbs left at the end. I am looking forward to visiting again in the new year. I highly recommend this lovely tea room.
We went for high tea and loved it. Quite possibly the best scones in Sydney! The pomegranate oolong was delish. It was packed inside and out, but service did not falter. Recommend booking in advance to score a table inside. Bonus points for ambience, felt like I was back in London.
Breakfast meal review. The meals were ok, but exactly the items noted, see picturesno dressings or garnish’s and plonked on the plate, no presentation. Gluten-free bread substitute ordered for one meal was on the side and was really glorified white cardboard. Coffee long black, no crema, dull coffee. Service was prompt, friendly and efficient.
There’s always something very special about having scones at QVB. Gave this 3 stars as we had ordered normal scones the waitress had actually asked if we wanted normal or fruit sconesand failed to tell us that they only had fruit scones AND then gave us attitude because we said we didn’t want fruit scones when it was served to us. We had to wait a further 30mins for our scones. We didn’t have an issue of waiting but it would have been nice if the team had just communicated that there were fresh ones being baked and not be so presumptuous that we would accept fruit ones what was the point in asking if it was going to be ignored anyway?. Nonetheless, the fresh scones were amazing. The service was not.
Nice spot for catching up over breakfast, lunch or high tea. The à la carte menu isn't extensive, but what they do offer is pretty good and should satisfy most. Prices are reasonable and affordable. I recommend the Spanish Omelette which was delicious. The eggs benedict, while good, could have done with another piece of bread. The coffees are also decent. There is seating inside and outside, although it's better inside as it's nicer and more comfortable. Staff are professional and service is good.
This place has beautiful decor and a very relaxed feel. I came for lunch and ordered the chicken sandwich- quite delicious along with their signature scones. Would definitely return here if ever I was in Sydney again.
I have a friend visited from Melbourne and we went to the Palace to catch up. The staff was very attentive. I have ordered a salmon salad, it was very yummy. My other friends love their dishes as well. I would definitely return to try their other dishes.
Fabulous High Tea experience in one of Sydney's most beautiful heritage buildings. Lovely interior, beautiful cakes and savoury snacks. Extensive ranges of interesting teas. Wait staff could be more attentive.
Amazing Food. Unfortunately, Wait time is long, 45 minutes wait for a linguini and fish cakes Drinks are decent. If wanting to get a quick bite, find somewhere else
Lovely cafe for breakfast in the QVB building, on level 1 overlooking the clock. Ordered the Breakfast bowl and a salmon Eggs Benedict. Would highly HIGHLY recommend the bowl, would definitely order it again - so many delicious things and well priced too! Love their extensive tea menu and the division into black, green, white, and oolong/herbal options - as a tea lover you definitely feel understood Had a pot of their white dragon pearl tea.... lovely floral tea in a GORGEOUS pot - although I was sad to see them use a tea bag not loose leaf - but everything else was too lovely for me to deduct a star Dietary restrictions: Wait staff made it clear when ordering that they could accommodate any allergies/dietary restrictions.
