We ordered the smoked trout and parfait for entree and Eye fillet & wild rabbit fettuccine for main, they were absolutely phenomenal. We finished the night with the Honey panacotta. If you're in Beechworth and after a good meal please give this restaurant a go, you will not regret it.Food: 5/5
One of the best restaurants at Beechworth. Nice, quite atmosphere where you can trully enjoy fine food and local wine. Smoked trout entre and snapper as main were amazing. Kid-friendliness: Kids were welcome. High chair was available.
Amazing dinner, the squid ink pasta with chilli garlic calamari was divine, the gorgonzola gnocchi exquisite. The panna cotta was incredible, creamy and flavoursome. Unfortunately couldn't try the chocolate dessert as my husband demolished it so fast it was that good!. Thank you for a delicious dinner!Recommended dishesBlue Cheese Gnocchi, Panna Cotta Dessert
Busy, always a good sign. Friendly and very knowledgeable staff. TERRIFIC food, great wine selection. One of the rare dining experiences that enters into my book of Never Forgottens. Seasonally and regionally perfect menu. Thank you, staff and chef, you made our brief stay in Beechy! 5 stars, no quibble.
Oh my gosh! Everything we had was delicious. Ambience was quite nice and service, lovely. We had the pork and chicken terrine to start and then I had a chestnut fettucine with rabbit and my partner had the risotto, we also had sides and a citrusy dessert. Would definitely recommend. The backroom can get a bit cold in the winter though but that's to be expected with old buildings.
The staff were very accommodating and nice. The squid ink linguini was quite good, although the pasta was a bit overcooked. The gnocchi was incredibly disappointing being rubbery and the sauce incredibly under seasoned and very watery. Also a larger problem culturally is the aggressive tipping requests from staff, which also happened here. Please bake these prices in to the menu if you have to tipping culture is toxic.
We had a disappointing evening. Wait staff were condescending and not very friendly. We ordered soufflé & the scallops for entree. Nice, but odd choice of paired flavours. Main course was average and overpriced. Squid ink linguine was bitter - garlic possibly burnt. We didn’t end up finishing even half the dish. The waitress asked if we enjoyed the dinner and we honestly but politely said that it was okay - she then bluntly asked ‘what does that mean’ and we mentioned the linguine and she then walked off without any further comment. We decided to pay and go.
Excellent Little Bistro - This is a fine little bistro with a small but wonderful menu with a good selection of local wines. Staff were very attentive and services was very quick. Could not fault. Back again 6 months later and still wonderful
The food was good, but perhaps not as good as what we were expecting from a hatted restaurant. The souffle entree was excellent. The gnocchi main was good, the pasta goat ragu was okay but lacked the depth of flavour you'd expect. The lamb main was a touch on the blue side of rare, and was chewy and without a decent knife, was very hard to get through.
Superb food and a terrific wine list. The service was fantastic. We loved every dish. Absolutely delicious and we can’t wait to come back.
