The place is clean but a bit sterile. The staff R friendly. The food is passable, but could easily be improved. The coffee is not very good & far too hot.
This is an exceptional cafe with home made food & cakes. I love the pots of tea served here. Because with your pot you get another one with hot water, so if you like have another pot . I always love taking nan here when I visit. Plus I’m a bit paschal to the passion fruit sponge cake with cream fresh in the middle . The owner dose all the home baking herself. Try the fresh salad sandwich or fresh salad with a quiche. Love going to The Pantry, Beechworth .
Breakfast museli and fruit was unfortunately uninspiring. The owner did mention that it was from supermarket, but seemed to be mostly all-bran, flakes, rice puff and almonds. The portion size was about a cup and not very filling. My partner ate both portions and didn't feel full. Cakes look OK, but didn't have these and there is some local jams, pickle etc available to purchase.
Friendly staff. We ordered The Hearty Breakfast $20 and it was tasty but not really worth the cost as it's small portions compared with other cafes. The coffees were warm, would have preferred them to be a bit hotter, and they didn't have much flavour; the chai and hot chocolate is basically milk with a hint of flavouring. The food did take a while to come out this morning even though they weren't that busy. But on a positive note, the food does taste delicious and the staff are lovely.
I normally don't leave bad reviews because I've been working in hospitality for the last 5 years but today I honestly felt like crying. Not only was the service awkward , small portions, terrible coffee, poor service, overpriced and the food tasted like nothing. I think I have picked the worst place in all of Beechworth.
I’ve been to the Beechworth Pantry multiple times and can honestly say it’s never been an awful experience unlike some other reviews. Sure, the staff could be a little bit friendlier but I don’t come here to chat to the staff, I come to enjoy delicious food and a good atmosphere. The dacquoise is by far my favourite thing on the menu! Please don’t ever change it or remove it! Lol! This is closely followed by the Venetian sandwich! Delicious! My mum will often have the soup of the day which is always some yummy, delicious flavour and my kids enjoy the milkshakes and sausage rolls. We’ll keep coming for sure!!
Very sorry, but was a miss and a half. Place is clean and tidy, can't fault that, but service is poor. Stood at counter for 10 minutes before any of the three staff running around even acknowledged us. Female staff member was incredibly rude and blunt, made us feel uneasy. Food came out and was bland, no flavour or seasoning whatsoever. Side salad was ok, but not enough food in each portion. Left hungrier than when we arrived. Avoid
I found their fresh salads quite nice and very fresh. Their cakes were also agreeable. But that terrine they serve is dry, tasteless and I have to question where on earth did that recipe come from. I can only suggest they research and even the Taste online has what must be 200% better than I had.
Awesome selection of gluten free cakes & hot food such as pies. So good.
I understand it is Covid and you only have 10 people at a time. However to be told that I couldn't make a table booking for 2 people was, I felt rude. I was actually working and was bringing a client up to Beechworth for a coffee and cake. Hence the booking, as I need to travel to get there. So we are not coming.
