The flake was exceptional, I like mine crumbed, and the wife likes hers grilled, and they were both cooked to perfection.nThe potato scallops were also great.nThe pumpkin fritters, personally I thought the batter was a bit thick, and I peeled it off.nPrices were good, on par with others in the area.nWe were only visiting the area for a short time but went here for lunch twice.
We were in the area and they were one of the few places that were open on a Sat afternoon at 4:30pm. Our pet peeve with a lot of fish & chips places is the oiliness so we were absolutely delighted when we found no greasiness in every bite, and even more delighted at how fresh the fish was. It's one of those humble little places where they don't look fancy but they know what they're doing, and what they offer, they do it right.

This place is incredibly busy, with locals frequently calling in orders and walking out with boxes of takeaways. When we visited on a weekend afternoon at 4 PM, there was a 10–15 minute wait. However, once we tasted the fish, we understood why it was worth the wait and why there was a long line at the door.nnWe ordered the **Fish Pack for Two**, which included two butterfish fillets, chips, two dim sims, and potato cakes. Everything was fried to perfection—crispy without being greasy, and there was no hint of old oil.nnThe batter on the butterfish was golden and crispy, while the fish inside remained tender and juicy. Easily one of the best fish I have ever had. The chips weren’t the super crispy kind but were still satisfying. The potato cake, with its crunchy exterior and soft, fluffy interior, was surprisingly delicious and a standout in its own right.
I fear this place has ruined fish and chips anywhere else for me as it has my partner!nnThe most fresh, flavourful flake you’ll ever sample with a perfect batter. Just the right size to feel satisfied and not stuffed. Worth every $ so don’t bother if you’re not serious!nnWe got chips too any whilst they were not the signature supplier, they were still delicious. Well done on a wonderful treat by the sea!
