At The Origin we are passionate about specialty teas and coffee.

Our tea is 100% New Zealand grown organic and extracted through our amazing Steam Punk brewing machine.

We source the highest quality 90+ single origin beans from around the world and micro roast to create unique blends that will tantalise your taste buds with every sip.

Our kitchen offers dedicated pure vegetarian cuisine.

The cafe itself is really cute and clean. The atmosphere is calm and the interior is real nice. The coffee is unmatched, the best one we’ve had so far down here in New Zealand.nWould recommend to other rodents

Gorgeous cafe tucked into the neighbourhood. Love that all the food is vegan. The hot chocolate with oat milk was Incredible. We only had some cabinet food as we weee short on time but can’t wait to come back & try the menu as everything looks super tasty! Friendly staff, parking just our the front. Toilets available and good wheelchair access also

One of the best vegan cafes in the city! It’s well hidden in Papanui, far from the main attractions, but definitely worth coming over, especially that it’s only vegan cafes open on the weekends. Everything is delicious, starting form barista made coffee, throughout cabinet food options of the day and ending in a la carte menu options and desserts. Poke bowl is indeed a must try ! Mapo tofu set is another solid option if you are super hungry. Jackfruit pretzel sandwich was just delicious, well seasoned and yummy sauce. On a top of that service is really polite ! Place gets crowded on the weekend for brunch so make sure to make a booking or come early!

Really nice and chilled vegan cafe! We had the tofu, the fried rice & noodle soup with lassis! Everything was very delicious - only one comment  -the rice was missing some flavour - they all came out relatively fast! Staff was friendly! We’ll be back :

Chanced upon this place on my way out of the city for a day hike. The jackfruit and salad sandwich delicious and great coffee. Can highly recommend and will definitely be back. Thanks so much for making my Saturday so delicious!
