Excellent service by the waitress! She even initiate to serve our soup into individual portion!! Great steaks and ice-cream sorbet!
Stayed in hotel and ate at restaurant first night. Was a delicious meal and courteous service truly an intimate dining experience
Loved this restaurant. Meals looked fresh and inviting and tasted even better. Do the yummy steak cut fries not the skinny fat filled ones. Staff well versed in menu and friendly.
We booked an early table for the Obervatory restaurant while staying in Queenstown. The staff were all lovely and really helpful, though the food was extremely underwhelming. I ordered a medium rare cut of Rib-eye with a side of potato mash and steamed vegetables. The steak was well underdone and the vegetables raw. My boyfriend ordered the pork belly which was extremely black and burnt on top, and gooey throughout. The side of vegetables were seared burnt and overall our meals were not worth the price. Similarly, the table of 8 behind us all had issues with their steaks being undercooked and their chicken wings being burnt. We thought we would wash our food down with a mulled wine though this wasn’t a great idea either. It was just a glass of hot red wine with a slice of orange. We now understand why it was one of the only restaurants available on First Table the night before we dined.
Went for dinner. My partner had the fish and chips and it was horrible. Super fishy taste and dry. Won’t be back nor would I recommend.
Absolutely disgusting buffet breakfast. Half the things on the buffet were empty and what was there was kept at room temperature serving tray heat must have been turned off. Bacon was so pale and slimy you would have thought it was raw. Pancake machine was out of mix and no one refilled it or anything else for the 45 min I was down there. Poor selection of hot food and spreads for the toast. I can’t think of a single redeeming thing about the breakfast.
My goodness is this a bad restaurant. Not only is the food terribly made and cooked, but the price is way too high for the pub like quality. Take the extra 15min to walk into town and try some of the amazing food there. Also the $20 or $28 breakfast is rubbish at best. However the wait and bar staff are absolutely wonderful, patient and attentive. Especially considering how understaffed they are
The BEST meal we had in Queenstown. The love these lady chefs put on the plate was incredible. The Confit Pork Belly was sensational, as was the Deconstructed Pear Crumble. Thank you for making our last night special!!
Walked all the way to this restaurant just because the reviews are quite nice, I was there quite late around 930pm, I ordered the main for the king salmon and it was indeed lovely cooked, tender inside and crispy skin and also quite fresh seafood quality. However the desert just ruined it all, I had the panna cotta and it was literally just no shape at all when it was brought to me, its all falling apart. And I was so shocked and couldn’t believe how come the chef could let the waiter take this to a diner and how come the waiter could even brought that to the table with smiley face to me?!?! I know I came very late, and if you can’t serve it properly with whatever u have leftover u could let me know when I ordered it. Or cuz I am Asian so that you guys thought I would just eat it anyway and left?ok I was so tired after the late flight so I did not make a scene. And this was also the first dinning for my Queenstown holiday
Great food and a lovely warm fire and friendly staff
