This is an absolutely amazing museum to visit. Rich history about Ballarat and there is a lot of interactive displays to enjoy. A wonderful kids area for drawing and beautiful cafe with a large outdoor area to relax in. Locals get free entry to the museum with address evidence. There is a beautiful and well priced gift shop with local artists products and more. Definitely a place worth visiting whether you're a local or tourist.

A great little museum with loads of interesting and exciting exhibits. The Eureka Rebellion story is well told with short films, interactive touch screens and historical objects, and broader themes of democratic ideals and processes expand from the events in 1854. The cafe is really great and serves excellent coffee, lunches and treats. Set in a pretty park, it’s a great place to spend a few hours learning about Australian history.

Fantastic, not what I expected. It celebrates so much. Some of the finest displays I have ever had the privilege to see. The Eureka flag has such a different meaning to me now. The famous speeches room was very moving. But nothing on the song room. Crack that code and you will be truly rewarded. Do yourself a favour.

Fantastic exhibition very educational for all however very upsetting to hear the center is going to be closed by local council. Shame on you for not perpetuating the learning about democracy and the extremely important history of Ballarat. Surely updating and revamping with vision would be more sensible and worthwhile.

Love the history on show here. If you're a history buff, or just kèen to see how people used to live in the early years before the beginning of democracy in Australia, this museum will offer that. It gives an insight into how our First Nations People were treated and reacted, and into the early years during the gold rush era and the beginning of unionism in this country.
