Story

Staying true to its grandeur history dating back to the 1800’s, The Lucky underwent a major renovation in 2014 to restore the original façade and bring the famous hotel back to life. Contrasted against a trendy new fit out of elegant modern deigns and features, the hotel offers a luminous mix of old and new.

The Lucky's in house saloon offers authentic American Bar-B-Que, smoked to perfection, with favourites including Spicy Chicken Wings, Pulled Pork and BBQ Baby back ribs. Sip on seasonal cocktails in the lounge or taste a variety of craft beers and regional wines in the courtyard while soaking up the sweet sounds of the local talent.

Great food cooked to perfection, ambience was awesome & service outstanding. First visit in years, pleasantly surprised. Will be going again definitely!
rooms and venue were really nice but did not rate the food. overpriced $25 for frozen burger patties which were dry and tasted microwaved. very disappointing. I complained and changed my order. ordered a much lesser value side dish because I'd pretty much lost my appetite. no refund for even the difference was offered.
Wonderful eater in the heart of beautiful downtown Newcastle. Pricing very reasonable, great Vegan menu too. Great friendly service. Would love to party here in this beautiful spacious old hotel again soon !!!
The ambiance is so different than other pubs .. food was great too . I felt like I am in different era . Everyone should try this place at least once if you are in Newcastle.
Leave your backpack down for 5 seconds and it's like you've planted a bomb. The staff freak out. But find me a better cocktail within 200km of Sydney. They make a mean cocktail.
Good selection of beers, normal.amd craft. Great helpful staff and friendly service. Good food, everytime we come and well worth a visit if you are in town. Support local, Newy all day.x
Enjoyed at late lunch in the courtyard. Smoked Cajun Salt Wings for me and Beef Nachos for my partner. Both were delicious and went down well with some local beers.
