The Local Shack

Don't let the picture deceive you; the food was presented beautifully. I just couldn't wait to sink my teeth into the food because it looked so tasty. The Hot Bird burger did not disappoint! This was going to be a three star review, but I decided to make it five for the following reason: as my family and I were being served today, we noticed how short-staffed the Local Shack was. As expected, service was a bit slow, but it was busy... I understood why. There were only two servers working the floor. Both were under pressure but we're doing an amazing job. It wasn't until an absolute Karen sitting at the table in front of me started to complain about the slow serving times that I witnessed how well these servers were doing their jobs. Given the circumstances, the food still came out within a reasonable amount of time. The server that dealt with the Karen, I thought, did an exceptional job at placating the customer, handling her with patience and professionalism. If you, Manager of the Local Shack Joondalup, happen to be reading this review any time soon, please show the servers that were working there around midday today April 7, 2021 this message, and please inform them that my wife and I were really impressed with their service, friendliness, and the chefs for their very tasty food. We were really happy with our meals, and with our dining experience.

Food was pretty average, did not have much seasoning. Highlight was the loaded potato skins. Wanted the burger with fried chicken but was told they had none left, only to see a nearby table getting fried chicken 10 minutes later.

Great place with a nice atmosphere and decoration nice music as well. Food is really good with a bit of price on it as there are no sides on some of the most expensive dishes out of the menu. Service is great and we were treated quite well.

Had half rack beef ribs. Tender but small with no flavor or marinades. They offer gravy not sauce to have with it - who does that. Overpriced and under delivered in what they offered. Two stars for the friendly staff. Won’t be back.

Friendly staff, great food massive portions, really nice smoothies! Definitely a treat to go to and enjoy a meal with friends and family.

The local shack is a good spot for 19 to 30 age group. It's really aimed at Uni n tafe students who on a budget. With good drinks , food at a decent price. The service is a 80% hit 20% miss with table service. This not a children place, yes they have board games n card but clearly setup for young ppl with low lighting n retro/hip vibe. I will come back again.

Love this place! Always come in whenever I'm in Joondalup shopping. Always fresh and tasty food and the staff are absolutely lovley! Special thanks to Hayden and Brendan for making us amazing cocktails and providing amazing service they really do brighten up the place and provide excellent service. Superstars! The only negative thing i have to say is that The Local Shack doesn't pay its employees fair wage overtime, breaks etc there have been claims about toxicity in the workplace Google: The Local Shack Scandals most of the staff are teenagers and this is their first job so very sad that they get taken advantage of. This review has 4 stars only because of the staff. Thank you bar, floor and kitchen staff. You make the restaurant what it is.

Had a lovey lunch with the girls today, six of us all enjoyed our food, it was really yum. Our salads were so good, the goats cheese was really delicious and a lot of it, and the coffee is great. Staff are really nice and welcoming, and the desserts are worth a visit alone. Good Job!

I highly rate the Shack Joondalup, go there all the time as we love the food and ambience. Rolled up Saturday at 10.55 for a breakfast, was told we are in the process of changing to the lunch menu. Checked with the chef, absolutely no chance of cooking something off the breakfast menu, but take a seat for lunch. Walked out and took our $50 somewhere else. Pretty average guys.

We had a lovely lunchtime meal. It wasn’t too busy as it was a weekday. I loved the sliders and the chips. Very nice atmosphere and decor. Enjoyed playing games provided at each table and catching up with the latest that’s happening in Perth as entertainment posters are pasted on the walls. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the food and the tasty chocolate milkshake I had. Highly recommend.
